Cometic MLS for 455 with 1/2" head bolts?

Hi,

if somebody has experience,

I'm planning to get Cometic MLS head gaskets C5811-036 advertised for 455 engine, and using them in small block, heads and threads converted for 1/2" head studs. How tight are Cometics bolt holes? Any problems with that?

Thank you,

Sami

The same gaskets are listed for the 1977 350 that came with ½" bolts, so you should be just fine.

I just checked a Cometic .027" big block Olds head gasket. It has plenty of clearance for 1/2 inch head bolts, and comes with the alignment tabs for both BBO and SBO.

Yup, I've used a few different cometic patterns (the first chunk of their part number is the pattern). All are set up for 1/2" bolts.
