Here are the specs and a couple pics of my 5 main halos for small block Olds;
1018 Steel
All sides CNC’d
Approx .400 thick
These were test fit on a about a half dozen blocks, a couple of 403’s and the rest 350’s. We found an inconsistency in the alignment of the main saddles, most notably #4 main. Because of that they don’t fit as well there as I would like them to. But with good studs and proper machining these should still offer a stiffening of the main saddles. In addition these will be significantly flatter than the previous J&S halos.
Looks like a nice piece do you make one for the big block?
What is the reason for the minor fitment issues that you are having?
Thanks for posting
This one can be modified to fit a big block. However because it’s thicker than most bb halos, you’ll need to trim it in order for the pan to fit well.
As stated the bolt holes are a bit of a compromise because of the inconsistencies of the main saddles block to block. In order for it to fit everything, the bolt holes are a bit larger than snug.
