New report shows that due to the chipset issue in Asia, new car sales will slow down due to that, decreasing new car availability and increasing the price of new and used cars until at least 2023.

Not sure what new car sales have to do with the new Edelbrock heads? I'm sure we will see more dyno results from Mark soon. I know he has been busy doing projects on the dyno even Vortecpro would like.

Point was that the supply chain has been affecting new car assembly and even American made cars can't get the parts they need to be built. So it shows that companies like Edelbrock can't get the heads built since they also rely on outside supply chains to complete their heads. For whatever reason, Edelbrock doesn't manufacturer it's own valve guides, valve seats, springs, valves, etc. and relies on outside supply chains.

Over 5 million new cars are sold in the USA per year. New car sales is a $100 Billion + a year industry here in the USA. Yet they even can't get the supply chain parts they need. So the Edelbrock heads are small change compared to that and they of course are having the same supply chain problem.

I'd be reely (pun intended) careful of quoting reelysalty. He's a troublemarker too.. Do some digging on that user name and you will see he's been banned before on other forums for starting trouble.

Let's get back to oldsmobile head talk guys. I didn't subscribe to this thread for personal attacks and bashing.

Why doesn't he just get the regular roller rockers designed for iron heads? I am keeping the special rockers Mark had made, that I bought, for the new Edelbrock heads. I have two others sets for exactly that purpose.

Think it is time to get out the grinder, clean up the iron stockers and bolt them back on . Ad boost and shove the a/f mix down it's throat.

I'm pretty sure I read that you cant get them bare, you have to buy them fully assembled.

seeing as how they are cast to be a full on race head if that’s the route someone wants to go,, these heads more than any previous ones should be available bare or as cast.

just like previous versions, as cast, bare or assembled

Huh? These are street heads with extras built in to take them further if so desired.
In general they’re looking at their entire line offerings, bare, assembled etc.

If I want to take them further…I would want them bare. Are they available right now bare?

Take it for what it is...

Everyone is in the same boat. I have been trying to buy a new MSI or Lenovo laptop workstation. Delivery date has been pushed back for months. Now saying October 15. I do not believe it.

Went with off brand one. Its OK.

The global supply chain is incredibly messed up. One thing I did earlier this year was to look at our commodity spend and the supply. Raw materials are very constrained, expensive, and industry isn’t keeping up with the labor rates. When chipotle is paying $18.50 per hour here there is no retention , no loyalty, and people just ghost. The supply chain is locked up as much was contract locked years in advance and what little raw materials are available now are very expensive. Especially aluminum up 63% this year per metric ton. All being passed on to us.

When we see the heads it will be a good day...just may be short run and a key reason we are using our last set of BB heads and doing yet another motor while we can..

There is always change. Just give it time. 6 months, a year or two. History is our teacher, for some anyway.

They’ll be worth the wait guys, especially the small block one.
if any of you watch Engine Masters, you’ll see they have a 351 Windsor as one of their mules. 9.5:1, 232/238 Hyd roller and AFR Heads. It makes in the 430-440 range with an RPM, 750 and open headers.
I’m here to tell you you’ll be able to do just about the same with these heads. Patience gentlemen, patience.

Wow! The pessimism here is unbelievable. In this particular situation none of you has a clue what’s happening. And I get that no news might initiate this type of thinking. But believe what you want to believe. Whatever.

I wouldn't worry about the negative Nancy's. If truth be told most of them wouldn't/couldn't buy a set if they were in front of them priced half off.
