Is it fair to say by changing the thin metal stock intake pan gasket to a, say a felpro 1356 .060 thick intake gasket you will need to mill the head or deck block to compensate the original position of the intake port to head port? If so by how much ?

 

Intake gasket has little to no effect on compression. I doubt you will need to mill anything to use the thicker gasket.

 

I doubt that the gasket change will cause an issue with the intake fitting.

 

agreed, but by milling the head or block will,yes? Do you have to mill the heads for the thickness difference of the intake to work, no. But changing the thickness will definitely put the intake higher. Its got to be .050" difference on each side. Which in cutting the deck down or head will bring it down. In theory. As to milling the head or deck to much you have to mill the intake.
