Hi,
I am glad I just noticed this post. I almost bought something from him about a month ago.saved his email. I needed to think about the transaction a little bit more.
I just emailed him back and told him I will never buy and I will tell my other car friends I have accumulated in the past 30 years also.
Thanks for the heads up

Not sure what he has in parts at the moment, but as you are on the West Coast, Larry Moyer (lemoldsnut) might have something. https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...emoldsnut.html

Angry Scammers

Has anyone had any dealings with a Leroy Great or his "uncle" Mike Downing? They just screwed me for $70 and I don't expect much help from Paypal. Just FYI. First time is on me - there won't be a second.

Depending on how you pay for the parts will depend on the help that you get from PayPal. If the money was sent as a friend and family gift, you lose. If it was sent for the purchase of parts, then PayPal protection will apply. Someone that I know just got screwed by PayPal since the buyer paid as parts, and the seller shipped NOS parts to him. The buyer claimed that the parts were "junk" and PayPal gave him hi money back. As a seller, I would only accept a U.S. Postal Money Order for parts, and then you know that the money is secure. There are too many scam artists working to get money out of honest people, so you always have to be careful whom you are dealing with.

Will do friends and family with people on this forum that have been selling to others on this forum. If not I will cover my tush. Only been taken once and that was not here and me being trusting. Sometimes I am to nice and believe the best in people. It is the way I run my business sometimes it gets me in trouble but most of the time I end up ahead. That is face to face not over the Internet.

Going to dust this one off. When I could not find some parts that I had been looking for over the course of a year, I gave Billions and Trillions a try. That was before I broadened my horizons and finally came here for advice and leads.

Frank was a talker, and I found him to be pleasant enough. He claims to have everything and definitely overcharges. I went in for a list of parts I needed. He was up front that he was busy and it was going to take him a few weeks to pull everything and send it to me. It ultimately took him two months, but he sent everything... almost. His order was missing one crucial part that I paid for.

I kept e-mailing and calling, and I was always polite about the missing part. He was was also polite in turn and always apologetic. Eventually, come six month after my initial order, I requested a refund and I showed him going prices for the part. He sent me a refund a week later for that amount.

So my own experience was not bad. That said, I doubt I'd go back only because the prices are so high. I'd probably drive to his scrapyard personally if I ever bought anything from him again.

Satoeauto on Ebay- he claims to be running a chrome shop. He was advertising a front bumper for a 1964 Olds 88, so I asked if he had a rear bumper. He replied that he did, and he could have it ready for July. Not knowing who he was, I asked if he could send a picture, and how much he wanted, and he was evasive. Never sent pictures, never came around with a price. I kind of dusted it off as nothing that would pan out and I looked elsewhere- but you know the bumper for a 64 is really hard to find, so today I hit him back and asked again how much? Suddenly, he has it ready to ship tomorrow- really suspicious. I know this guy as "SatoeAuto" out of Tulsa, says he has a chrome shop and all his parts are re-chromed, 9/10 quality. It just seems odd that a few days ago he could have it done by July, but suddenly it's done today and ready to ship. He told me to check out "GTO Guru" on FB, hit him up directly for a better price.

So "SatoeAuto" out of Tulsa claims to have a 9/10 freshly re-chromed bumper for a 1964 Olds 88, ready to ship today... I have to reach out to GTO Guru to work out a price... so, what do ya think? What should I say this this guy?

I have a few ideas... but I'm open to suggestions...
Here's the chat...

Back in January I won an E-Bay auction for a 63 98 NOS right tail light lens from Satoeauto. Auction ended on Saturday so I paid and thought good deal plus shipping, duty, taxes and dollar difference, total my money would have been close to double. Monday I get an e-mail from E-Bay stating the seller refunded the money because it's broken or damaged.
Did a little checking and it's bikerfox Frank L using another name in Tulsa. A month later the same lens and same pictures are back on E-Bay for a buy it now price of $799.00. I did get my funds returned but never again from anyone in Tulsa without a full check on who they are or pretend to be.

I was going to try messing with him, but there's an old saying- "Never argue with an idiot. They'll drag you down to their level and beat you from experience". I figured it was best to just be glad I figured out his game before getting in too deep, and leave it at that.

Hemmings Motor News.

I'd dig through "Hemmings Motor News" for bumpers for early sixties full size. Am of belief there are still NON COMPUTER types on there, trying to sell off old parts. As an aside, you might try contacting "El Paso Electroplating" in El Paso TX. They are substantially cheaper than the now hyper expensive Midwest and California platers, Meaning it may be cheaper to send them your bumper cores, than plating locally up there.
