Need high output alternator for 68 Cutlass 350 100+ AMP

Was going to order a chrome 120 AMP from ebay for around $65 but I thought I'd check to see if you guys had any high output alts laying around. My 60amp is not cutting it when I have my lights and wipers on at idle for a while.

Thanks

Post high output alternator for 68 Cutlass

If you're running a stock alternator/mechanical regulator combination, the output can be adjusted. You need to find a "mechanic", not a technician, that is familiar with the early charging systems. I'm NOT trying to bad mouth younger repair people; most just have not had any experience with the older systems. Any good repair manual that covers your year vehicle will explain how to check and adjust the regulator.

Powermaster makes a nice alternator and fairly reasonable ! (Summit or Jegs) You don't want chrome trust me I was an auto mechanic for 22 years. You can also bypass your external regulator and use an internally regulated 120 amp alternator from a mid 80's GM vehicle. Mine came from an '85 Corvette. The case is a little bigger and there are some other differences which I can explain and tell you how to adapt to your vehicle if you like. I have a '68 Cutlass Holiday Coupe that I am restoring, if you know where I might aquire a set of #5 cyl heads I would appreciate it. Thanks.
