Would 2 alternator output wires to reduce heat?
Gang
Just prepping a new to me harness for my 66 98. Already have to HEI and internally regulated alternator on it and they work well.
I've soldered up a 6 gauge wire to the horn relay junction block to handle the higher amperage output for the 10/12 SI.
I have a spare 10 gauge which is the right length. Does it help, hurt or not matter to run a redundantly alternator output line?
I'm thinking it might reduce heat build up from higher amp newer alternators, but then 6 gauge is pretty big and it might not be needed.
What say you? Unneeded complication or reasonable safety precaution?
TIA

As MDchanic says, the extra carrying capacity is not necessary here but the idea is good in case you need it in another application. Just remember to keep both conductors equal in size, type and length to enable them to carry the load equally.
