Looking for quadrajet 7042250

Hello all,

I am looking for a 7042250 quadrajet to run on my 72 cutlass supreme 350 AT with Air. Had a 7043250 rebuilt on it with the factory tested rebuilt carb sticker on it (mass produced) I am not opposed to a 7043250 either so let me know what you have. I am looking for a core carb to use or a rebuilt excellent condition carb. Not looking for one that has multiple rebuilds on it already, been down that road with poor results. Let me know what you have and maybe we can work something out.

I have one in the garage. Never been re-bushed, but has had a couple carb kits over the years. Runs fine actually, just decided to go with an Edelbrock for now. Don't know what it's worth though...

Thanks for the reply! Nice car too! Give me until the end of next week to do some digging, but I may just take it off your hands! How do you like the edelbrock? I was thinking of swapping out myself but saw too many negative posts to make a decision. What are your thoughts? I'll keep you posted. Either way I will probably end up taking your core so I can get it rebuilt for a primary or spare. here's a post from a while ago same carb sold for $45 shipping included, https://classicoldsmobile.com/forums...arburetor.htmlif you are good with that price range I'd probably take it. Also do you have any pics? no rush I know it's a lot of work for not a lot of $ so take your time! Thanks!

I wouldn't get rid of it for $45... it runs well actually.

Here's another option

I have a 7043251 that's a good core. Not looking for much - 30.00 plus shipping. If you want the solenoid, add 5.00 (it's been tested and works). Here are some pics. Note: the bimetal choke spring cover has some damage but shouldn't affect operation of the choke spring. You're planning a rebuild anyway so you can also change out the metering jets to the same as 7042250 and get the same performance. Tried to get decent shots, but if you need anything else, LMK. The linkages all work mechanically. I haven't tested the vacuum pot.

re: shipping. I live in Canada and shipping will be higher. I have a postal business account that gives me a slight break on rates, but it still costs more. If you prefer to keep your purchase within the USA I understand.
