ISO 66 Dearborn/Phord 3 Speed Toploader Transmission

We need to locate and purchase a 66 442 3 speed Dearborn/Phord transmission. The ID tag should have the code HEG AB which is the code for a 442 unit. The tag is riveted to the case. I think 67 units had a different code but not sure and if you have a 67 transmission with that code we're interested.

Thanks

Mike

He doesn't show the date code but the tag is a 69 unit I believe. We got transmissions running out of our ears, just looking for a good date code. Thank you very much for sharing.

Where is the date code on these? What does the tag tell you? These are a mystery to me, I also have an extra Dearborn trans and wonder what date it is?

They are a mystery and nobody in the Olds community has ever researched them until Curt Anderson and I did some digging. There could have been some research but we couldn't find any.The tag has the Phord identification info. The lettes/numbers on the topline is the actual Phord ID and the numbers on the bottom line are production serial numbers. When the trans were used in an Olds they used a 2" ink stamp to ID the trans as the line workers didn't have time to look @ the Phord ID tag. As far as the date code goes,it's cast on the case above the front shift arm and are upside down. They are actual date codes not Julian date codes. They would be something like 6 A 15. That Jan. 15 of 1966. The Phord guys are big on these tags because they have the info for particular applications. They used the tags on 3&4 toploader transmissions,

Seems a bit pricey…
But that’s up by my parents house. I’ll be up there in December.
