Been reading all morning on this before the torch comes out lol
Is there a current base color or formula for Firefrost gold?
I see lots of older threads but thought I'd ask if anything current has been used with good results.
Car will stay Cameo white but has the stripes on the hood and accents on the trunk around the tail lights.
Sent an email to 1969hurst@jeffmeister.com for his input as well.
Well for anybody else going through this dead end, this is what I decided.
When I started with this car from the ground up.
Took the wheels that were painted white over 3 colors all chipping and had them spun for tru, then blasted primed, painted and clear coated.
Got a buddy with a 70 CS in the gold and after lots of reasearch and dead ends decided to use this color as close to Firefrost as I could get it as a base coat.
Below is the formula for that along with the current faded hood stripe and finished wheel.
It seems to make sense to use that color for the stripes at this point where a perfect match isn't possible.
I’m building a 69 h/o convertible clone , I appreciate your efforts , I’m assuming you checked out the formula posted by ctos flying in his thread? It’s amazing how many hoops you need to jump through for a little gold paint lol
