Want to repaint my 1970 442 grills

I have the dull aluminum paint and want to paint my grills as somewhere along the line they were painted flat black. My question is Fusicks says theres have the correct black on the lower section with the rest being dull aluminum. In looking at as many pics as possible all I see on original cars is 100% dull aluminum color..Anybody help out with a few detailed pics of where I would paint the black after spraying the dull aluminum? Is it only the lower bars that connect the loops to the base you paint black? Those short little connector bars?
Thanks

A couple of follow up question on the grills:
  1. Was the black only done on the bottom of the grill? (and not on the same area on the top)
  2. What color was the black? Satin black?
  3. Were the tops of the grills that are visible when the hood is open painted? (see picture below)
Also in looking at some original grills it appears that the black out was was done inconsistently. (see picture below) There's a little bit of dull aluminum showing on the top and bottom of the post. Is this just a typical factory rush job? This can also be seen in the picture of the grills at the top of this thread.
