My first guess would have been Chevy Rally Green, but with the data tag evidence of 46 once there, I would go with Ming Jade. TCP Global does have a match for it.

You're correct. Code 19 is black not platinum. It still seems odd to m e that the wheels would not be body color and that it's called out on the build sheet

 

I can tell you for sure this color is MING JADE code 46. I special ordered my 70 in this color, wonder if this was my car...

I'm reliving my old car, in the process of painting my 70 442 convert this color.

 

Joeyg I bought this car in Louisville, Ky. I believe from the original owners daughter. It also has the protecto plate. Maybe just a coincidence you both ordered the same car

 

WOW what a coincidence, I know of at least one 442 that was ordered from the factory Ming Jade and one Cutlass Supreme and now yours, now were up to three!

I figured I'd dump this link in here because I thought it was unique.


Every special order paint code I've seen in 68 was either "- -" or, if it was an Oldsmobile color, it was the Oldsmobile code... ie: the 68 H/O with the "Z Z" paint code. This 68 Oshawa Cutlass S has a "Q Q" paint code with is a Pontiac code (Verdoro Green Metallic).

It shows --B 2 special order colors with "B" black roof tag came from a 442 / cutlass

don't forget about this green on an Olds... "First things first, the paint code on this unbelievable car is merely two dashes indicating it was a special order color-in this case, Rally Green"

 

A friend of mine ordered a new 1968 442. At the time, he worked for a funeral home that had it's vehicles painted a shade of baby blue. He wanted his 442 painted that color, and they did. Not sure how he got the paint code to them or what the process was, but it was the same color as the hearses.
