They are pretty close to the same height, just extra width and less rubber on 18" vs 14". What is the factory and I assume current rear gear ratio?

factory was close to the nowadays 205/70r14. gear ratio is 3.08

but the last days with working on the Omega convinced me to keep the SSII wheels - see the last picture.

That is an excellent cruising ratio, especially with that non OD 3 spd standard. Yes, the SS11 look really nice on that car.

 

Installed the rockerpanel moldings and started working on the package tray

 

Really nice build and it is getting better looking every day!

 

By the way, if that is you in the car in post #243 you have that classic "**** eating grin" you have got to be happy!

Good idea, but I'm still confused as to exactly when the OHC-6 entered the picture.

 

as the GM inline6 was frozen up and badly repaired I had to replace the engine, which is not that easy in Austria.

luckily found the Pontiac ohc6 230 sprint in an old warehouse and as the 1st gen Firebird and the 3rd gen X-bodies used the same subframe it was any straight forward swap!

There will be some bass coming from the Audio System R609 evo speaker combo!

 

Installed some weatherstrips: door seal plate, door and trunk seal as well as new window run channels

 

One small step at a time and about last weekend: ashtray and glovebox are in as well. Fitting quite well!

installed the raingear wiper system for a hidden installation of the motor.
easy going installation and lasted around 1:30 with picture documentation
