B/C Body Headers

Does anyone know of high quality headers that will fit 71-76 B and C bodies without modifications? I already know that Doug's Headers makes a set. However, they are a bit pricey. Does anyone know if the following headers would fit, or are they just junk that would have to be beaten into submission?

If nobody knows, then perhaps someone has the contact information for the OCA B/C body advisor. Perhaps they know...

Well, that link lists eleven different sets of headers...

Every listing I've ever seen indicates that the A-body headers also fit the 71-76 full size cars. The 71-76 cars use the same motor mounts as the A-body, and unlike the 65-70 cars they are front steer, so I suspect you'll be OK.

Thanks Joe. That is what I was suspecting, I just didn't know if anyone had any experience with any of the listed headers. Summit says any of those headers would fit the 71-76 B/C body. I guess the question would be if any of them required "modification."

When I was putting my Delta back together 4 years ago I had some headers laying around, not sure what brand or application they were or what they were "suppose" to go on, maybe an A-body. I put them in when installing the engine back in my 1971 Delta. A little "modification" on driver's side near proportioning valve, and the down tubes seemed a little short being that the collectors touched the top of the floor. I heated the tubes before the collectors and pulling down on the collectors, re-benting it down-ward a tad for a better angle away from the floor and a straighter shot at the cross-member. I put a torque tube on along with dual exhaust. It wasn't to bad and the price was right, free. Look around for a used set cheap. Headers and dual exhaust will probably give you around 20-25 HP and a little more torque. My Delta's probably a true 350 hp at the flywheel. Good luck, Ken

I'm glad you brought this up olds64, because I was trying to figure out the same thing. headers and true duals is a mod I've been dying to do to my 98 for a while, and I'm hoping to accomplish that by this summer.
