A-Body headers in a big Olds????

I may be able to get a set of Hedman A-body headers. I have a 66 Delta 88 with: HC 425 2bbl, no AC, and power steering. Will they (or can they) fit without re-engineering the car around (or destroying) the headers?

Thanks!

You can get B body headers from Doug's Headers. They are expensive but I have only heard good things about them.

Trying not to spend too much money - could have got them cheap. If I just get the Thornton repro LH dual manifold (or get lucky and find an original that's not cracked) and go to duals that should do a decent job of waking up this motor, right? I have a rebuild kit for the 2 bbl for now but plan to eventually go to a 4bbl.

Thanks,

Rick L.

Dual exhaust is always a good option. However, as far as bang for your buck goes I would think putting a cam into your engine or replacing the 2 barrle with a 4 barrle carb would be your best bet. If you find a stock dual exhaust manifold for the driver's side buy it no matter what condition it is in (as long as it is a good price). You can always have it welded and repaired if it is cracked.

A-body cars are front-steer (steering box and steering linkage are in front of the crossmember). 65-70 B-body cars are rear-steer (steering box and linkage behind the crossmember). This is why the 65-70 B-body cars require the special RH exhaust manifold for dual exhaust. I suspect a significant amount of modification will be required to use these headers.
