very cool. it should look really nice with the stitching replicated on the new covers. the two tone will be a nice added touch too. cant wait to see it!

I will definitely post pics once I get them.

Thanks for the warning dad, I saw him driving down the street in his blueprinted and built 72 Delta 88 sedan. I was afraid he might make me look like a scrub.

You might just beat your dad getting his car done. Then you can bug him for a change. Watch out Dan

Here's a pic of a 71 Olds 98 I bought a couple years ago for $700. It is a 90,000 mi car. I bought it for a "parts" car. My 71 conv has a corperate 10 bolt rear-end and this 98 has a corperate 12 bolt posi in it. I have 3:42 gears I will put in it, one of these days. and put it in the conv. Solid car so I am holding off canibilizing it. Might make a dailey driver out of it if gas stays down. Later, Ken http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o...71Delta013.jpg

I am still tuning it up. When I changed the plugs they plug wires were so deteriorated that they snapped off at the plug in a couple of places. The oil filter was also one of the dirtiest I've ever seen. There was sludge in between the rim of the filter and the rubber o-ring. Today I am going to put points, cap, rotor, and wires on it. After setting dwell, timing, idle speed, and idle mixture I am sure it will run alot better.
Well I tried to set up account with flickr so try this to see if you can find photos.

I have 1 71 98 and 1 03 VW Beetle. I sold my 64 98 about a month ago to a guy from Sweden.

Wolfman, still couldn't see anything. I will try in about 12 hours when I am home from work.

I'm a brand new guy on here. I have a '71 98 2dr. Luxury Coupe which I took the engine and tranny out of to drop in something else, and the body is in great condition, not a ding in anything. I want to sell the rolling body. I'm in Texas and it's a Texas car.
If anyone is interested, please let me know.
Have to say, there are some great cars on here.
Thanks, Texas Jim

Agreed Jim, we need pictures. I dont know who would be interested in the whole rolling body, but I know I'd be interested in the fender skirts, and maybe some other misc parts once I saw pics.

Heck Yeah! WHO needs an Air Bag when you're nearly 20 Feet Long and over 2 Tons of Steal?! Long may these Brutes Rule the Roads, Highways and Byways! The first time I drove a '72 Ninety-Eight and got it out on the Highway I literally just started CRACKING UP!! It just FLOATS down the road like a magic carpet!! Just totally awesome and an experience you simply do NOT get in ANY Modern "Iron" at all!

A Toast to ALL my Fellow Ninety-Eight Owners, Fans and officianados!

wow, I cant believe all the posts about the '71 Ninety-Eight! Thats the exact car I learned to drive with.. except mine was green. I loved that car. It was also our "family" car, so have spent an awful lot of miles riding in it as well as driving it.

I actually still have some of the dash parts from it, some interior emblems, and I think I may even have the original 8-track. Don't ask my why I kept them, but I did. If anyone actually needs stuff for this car, I will keep my eye out for the stuff and catalog what I have. Let me know. I am also pretty I have the front bumper "shock" things too.. but they are real heavy.

I Love It !

I almost bought a matching four door like that to keep my coupe from getting lonely.....If you need the rear sideglass vertical weatherstrips let me know. I accidentally bought a pair and now I can`t return them. Nice car !

My first '98 was a '72 2 dr LS I bought in the summer of '78 for $500 from a Ford dealer I worked for. I think it rode better than my dads '68, '72 and '75 Cadillacs. My current '98 is a '76 4 dr Regency that is solid but needs paint and some mechanical work.

Where can one find the rubber rear fender extentions for these cars? I believe '75 is the same as '76.

Hello everyone. I haven't been on the site for quite sometime. It wasn't due to lack of interest in Oldsmobiles, it was just due to life.

Recently, I bought a wheelskins wheel cover for my Oldsmobile.

http://wheelskins.com/

It was $50 well spent on the Oldsmobile. It is an easy project as long as you take your time and count stiches.

I also recently put a Summit 750 cfm carburetor on my Oldsmobile. It runs great. All I did was set the idle mixture screws, idle speed, choke and float. I also put a chrome air cleaner and Fram AirHog air cleaner on it. I got the air filter for $2 at RockAuto.

Unfortunately, I won't be driving my Oldsmobile very often in the next year. In October I'm deploying to Iraq or Afghanistan for a year. It will be tough being away from home for so long, but my wife and I decided it is a good job opportunity. I will definitely keep folks updated while I'm away.

Hey! for the next 2 1/2 months we got him back. Look for things to liven up a bit. Jesse, things are pretty much how you left them = you can figure that out

Olds64, I'm trying to document changes in the number of decklid louvers for 1971 Ninety Eights. When you have an opportunity, will you please count the number of louvers in your rear deck (trunk lid)? Thanks!

For you folks with '71s I recently identified some NOS parts I have and one is a the rocket emblem for the nose of a 71 88/98. Please send me an offer if you have any interest. I have pictures I can send and it's still in the GM box.

Thanks,
Michael
