Talking Finally, the wait is over...

Hey All,
Well, as a southern boy (Texas) I 've always enjoyed going to car shows and seeing people roll by with they're ol' Americana muscle on the weekends. I'm finally in a position in my life to enjoy the same. I recently purchased a 1969 Olds 442. She's in fairly good shape as it is, but I'll bring her up to speed over the next year or two (I'll have that luxury since I work offshore ). Plus, I'll be glad to use this forum to pick everyone's brains on any issues I run into. The 69 originally started out as a holiday coupe. Which is fine and all, but the previous owner wanted a lil more to her and did a "tribute" (just another nice word for clone ) w-30. What I see so far is a decent enough job. He didn't just slap the badges and power bulges onto her, but actually went as far as to upgrade the suspension with the correct equipment and also the aluminum differential cover on the rear pumpkin. I'll posts pics of her once I get a nice shine on her this time in. I'd love to hear any input or suggestions from you more "seasoned" 442 owners out there. And yes, she sleeps in a secured garage while I'm away. No curbside storage for her.
Sean

Sean: Welcome to CO! Cannot wait to see pics of your new/old '69, and glad you were able to "jump in" at this time in your life to a great hobby with a great bunch of folks. By the way, THANKS FOR GETTIN' US THAT BLACK GOLD OUT OF THE GULF! You will be welcomed by many more, with the same plea...............PICS, ASAP! Once again, welcome. Sounds like a neat ride.

Thanks all! And your welcome Aron! I've been on the water for over 14yrs as an electrician and probably will be for a long time yet. Still young at 33!! And yes yes, pics will be posted when I can get them. My brother has one of the fancy-shmancy cameras and he wants to do a photo shoot with her, lol. Also, for all the fellow Texans, I reside over in Conroe, north of Houston. And I am a native Texan.
