Hi
I have a 77 Cutlass Supreme. Firethorn red on firethorn red with the 350 engine.
Car is really good shape, i bought it cheap and planned on selling, but decided to keep it a while. I plan on keeping it mostly stock, but would like a little more power.
I work for the air force and my hobby is building AirCooled VW motors and drag racing VWs. I was invited to enter a engine build contest for Hot VWs in 2006 and came in 5 th place with 142 ci engine that made 210 hp with 9-1 CR on pump gas.
In the past i have also built and raced Chevrolets , i had a 72 Nova and 68 Pickup that I hot rodded.
This my first Oldsmobile, but I like it. i also have a 1956 VW, a 1958 VW, a Dunebuggy, a 79 Chevy Pickup, and 2001 VW Turbo Diesel jetta

I use to drag race a lot, but I never was that good at it. you know what happens in the first 60 ft is the most important.
I build a few motors on the side for others. i like doing my own work because I'm picky and like things the way i like them.
This car is pretty nice, it's a 2 owner with 76000 miles. it's been respray by the PO and i replaced the carpet.
Not a show car, but a nice weekend car. i like loading up my friends and taking it to town to eat or whatever.
That's one reason i decided to keep it.
Thanks for the great forum!!!

Welcome to our site Torsten. It appears that you are a member of a local American Muscle Car Club. I bet you all get some very interested inquiries about your cars when you stop for fuel.

Looking good!
These days, finding Olds parts can be tough in the States....I can't imagine how it would be "over there".
Let us know if you need anything. We'll help if we can.

from ebay, with shipping and costums, 380 euros
So what does it mean??? Meanwhile i always buy in the united states, cause everything is at least one third cheaper, than to buy in germany...
By the way im lookin for a 1971 442 Hood with the two scoops, any condition but not the worst...
Thanks to you guys

Hey guys, I just joined up and I'm ready to dive in to the Oldsmobile threads. I was referred here by another site that I am a member of, www.PerformanceYears.com , yep, it's a Pontiac site. I've got a few cars, but the Cutlass is my newest. It's a '65 F-85 Coupe with a '69 Olds 350 in it. Here is a few pics, I drove her home last month. I hope to post soon, thanks for any future input!

I have those same wheels on my car right now, haha.
You don't see too many of them around anymore, because they stopped making them.
Those newer Jeep Wrangler wheels look really similar, but alas the centercaps are lame.

Hello,
Joined up here a while ago, have been visiting for a few month. I purchased a 55 2dr hardtop super 88 in January. This is my first GM so learning as I go. Plan is a daily driver. Hotrods are what I am really into. I need to sort a few things out on the olds so I have a few questions I will go and post in the appropriate areas.

Just joined while surfing, stumbled on this site, looks good. First car was a 68 Olds Cutlass from my grandfather, which I no longer have. My grandfather passed away last year and I inherited his 68 Olds 442. Currently no motor, but he had a small block and 400 in there, for now I'll put back in what he had. Keeping it his way for now and getting it running again is important and very sentimental for me. Someday I'd like an Olds engine. Paint will eventually need done, but for now its 'copper', which my grandfather painted himself many years ago, lots and lots of layers. Luckily, I also inherited Olds and GM parts he collected over the last 30+ years. Getting it ready to hit the road this summer, the last time my grandfather had it on the road was the 80's.
Rolled in looking for a picture similar to my W30 to use as an avatar on another site and just had to join. I haven't been actively working on or with my cars for a while - divorce will tend to kill such a hobby - but I still have the cars. My first car was a 69 Hurst Olds I bought around 1980, or so. Before that I drove a 68 Cutlass that my parents had bought for me to drive. Ah, the good old days. I have since waded through a few with notables that I no longer have including a 70 442, 71 4sp 442, 69 4sp 442 and the 69 Hurst Olds that an X-buddy used to chop a telephone pole in half. I gave my oldest son my 70 Cutlass when he turned 18. I have left my 70 auto W-30, 71 4spd 442 ram air, 70 SX and 70 Vista Cruiser. I actually drive my W-30 every week or so but it was my daily driver for more than 10 years with the 71 doing the same duty for a different 10 years.

Welcome guys to our site.
flatoz, so do you plan an "old skool" style hot rod or a restoration, or a street rod high buck setup?
S.Fulton, waiting for the correct engine for your car is a good idea, especially since it is sort of in rememberance of you grandfather. Hope our site can help you.
70OldsW30, maybe you could tell the story about the demise of the '69 Hurst some day and we can all cry in our beer with you.
Good to have all three of you here.

Just thought I'd stop in and introduce myself. My name is Keith. Age 30, single, & have been looking for a car from my childhood. I suppose the stress of adult responsibilties made me yearn for something from my days of no responsibility. What might that be? A 1978 Cutlass Salon. I happened to pick one up on Ebay earlier today. Next will be transporting it back home. At least the previous owner says it runs.
My profile pic is what inspired my search.

Hey all, Cutlass owner and car lover here
My name is Russel and I am 38 years old and I live in Colorado Springs, CO. I own a 1966 Cutlass Supreme and 1970 Cutlass Conv. with a 455 Rocket. I also have a 1992 Mustang GT that I have a 347 stroker 500HP engine in and love to race. I am a big time car guy and a product of the 80's. I have always been a grease monkey and love working on cars as a hobby. I am ex Air Force and used to work at Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Base (you know, the one from War Games). Believe it or not I read everyone's introductions before putting in my own.
Hello Everyone,
My name is Roman, I live in Washington State, and I own a 1972 Olds Cutlass Supreme that I’m working on restoring. I’m shooting for W-31 engine specs, but with all of the 442 trim goodies. My goal is NOT to build a clone, but to build the best looking/running Cutlass Supreme out there.
I am in sales for a software company that provides advanced 3-D training to Pulp and Paper mills. I don't get the chance to work with my hands very often (other than a keyboard) so I picked up the Cutlass to tinker on nights after work and on weekends. It's a great way to relax and yet be productive at the same time…and go broke.
My inspiration to build Olds came from my dad. He has a 1970 Olds 442 sitting in his garage just rusting away. It's been there for 20 years and unfortunately he can’t afford to fix it, won’t let anyone near it, and refuses to sell it. (stubborn) Hopefully after he sees my project done, he’ll open up to the idea of letting me help him get her done.
I'm fairly new, but thank you to all that have answered my questions and been willing to share their expertise. I'm happy to share my experiences if I see something I am knowledgeable about.

Oh, I also own a 29 Ford Roadster that is going to be a tradtional HotRod (Don't call it ratrod, I HATE the name!) Sole reason for it is so my kids can learn how to wrench and build a bitchin' car to drive to High School.....

My name is Jason Daniels, I'm from Paulding Ohio and I've owned an oldsmobile all my life. My dad has also owned oldsmobiles all his life and so has my two cousins, great uncles and grandfather. My current project is an 84 cutlass with a 455, 6 point cage, 12 bolt rear, trick springs, adjustable shocks, no hop bars and adjustable upper control arms. I'm hoping for 10's but I'd be happy with 11's. I've been a diesel mechanic for about the last 15 yrs but now I'm an instructor at a college.

I’m very happy to have found this community of people dedicated to Oldsmobiles! I was bitten by the car bug in 1995 and have restored a 1971 Chevelle, partially restored a 1971 Skylark with 50k original miles, and now have my 1968 Cutlass! She’s pretty original and I got her for a great price. The cutlass is by far my favorite of the cars I’ve had because of the body lines and dual split front headlights. She’s a keeper! I also really like oldsmobile because it’s unique! It seems like everyone wants a 64-72 Chevelle or early model Camaro for example.
My name is Ashley(of the male variety) and I was born on the day mt. st. Helens erupted. Hence the name. Ashes---Ashley—go figure. I’m in Portland, OR and work as a landscape architect/planner and aspire to be a green home builder/remodeler.
I’d like to bring my ride mainly back to original with a few tasteful additions like suspension, wheel/tires, exhaust, carb/intake and hopefully keep it at that for a while! We’ll see right?
I’m excited to be part of the site, find a few parts, and learn a few things while I’m here!

Hi folks, I'm Guy (no jokes) from NJ. I am 39 and work for a major Pharma Company. I have been thru alot of classic Oldsmobiles since I could afford to buy them but never seem to kep them too long. I fall in lust with cars - not Love. I wish I could own more than 2 at a time but its a matter of space and time. My first Olds memory was getting a ride in my Aunts 71 Cutlass 'vert back at age 4 or 5 and man...what a ride. I could never get my old man to buy a rag top!
Currently, my wife (of 16 years) and I have a 75 Delta 88 Royale Convertible and a 72 Cutlass S 4 speed. We are in the process of selling the 72 in hopes to put another 88 in our stable.
I really enjoy this board and hope to contribute more

I purchased the car 4 years ago and since 2 years i'm in the process of restoring it. i'm just finishing the engine bay for now.
In the future i'd like to purchase a 71 S but those cars are very very rare here.
