Hello, new to the site, thought I'd drop a line. I have been into cars since I was a child, have worked as a mechanic for numerous years but now only one the side from my home garage. I have too many project cars to list, but of interest for this forum-I have inherited my Grandfather's 77 Toronado. It is a clean survivor, he bought it in California while deployed during the first gulf war. He parked it in one of his storage sheds in '91. I look forward to discussing all things Olds, and am hoping to learn some things about these unique cars, and maybe some parts. I also have another 77, which was pulled out of a field and is incredibly....bad. I got it for 100$ but maybe should have left it lol.
If the field car is reasonably complete it was worth the $100 1) to see how things go together and 2) for spares. That's the kind of car the parts or salvage guy will say "you want what for a what?".
Recommend getting 77 Olds factory shop book too. That was about the time Toronados were getting a bit more complicated, esp in ignition and emissions.
