always loved BB olds...

i had a 66 olds 88 w/425 and 2 passengers...kicked butt a guy who had a pontiac GTO riding solo

ever since i have loved the "odd" GM product known as olds.

now i am older and own a 70 olds 98

i presume i have a 2.56 rear gear and am looking for a posi to work with the existing gear ratio

from what i have gathered, there are extremely limited options when using this gear/rear combo

i count 12 bolts on the cover, and don't know what is inside the carrier

i am comfortable with the highway ratio but would like to plant both tires down so's i can reduce unproductive wheelspin

any help with preferably new parts or options would be appreciated

note the quotation marks around the word "odd"

this implies that someone else has this view of our beloved olds products

as mentioned, he soon found out what the 425 is capable of

never would i put down my favorite american made auto product

I have a 72 olds,455 w/lunati bracket master cam,4 spd m-21 with 390s in the rear. I aquired this car from my brother after his passing. I want to change the rear gear but don't want to guess at it. Any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

3.43 or 3.23 would be great street gears, especially with a 4-speed manual rather than a 3-speed auto

Nice story I was in the same boat, never thought much about olds until I looked into the 455 and saw the ridiculous torque numbers, my favorite thing to see its just been getting better and better since haha
