74 H/O mini resto

Well im not going to be doing anything as crazy as all of yall........ Yeah how many times have you heard that.

Quick run down on the car,(i had a noob thread, but i know not a lot of folks look at those) My dad came home when i was a kid and said "hey boy, a guy that works for me wants to give me a car. Do you want it? we can build it for your first car". As any kid that loved cars would say, i said YUP! So we headed out with the truck and trailer to get my new ride....lol She was a sad little girl. Didn't run, the rear seats where moldy (later found out about the rust issues). paint was nasty. Well the whole car was nasty.

Luckily for me, my dad had a great job and was a car guy, so he dropped some coin on making her pretty nice. All new paint, all the rust gone, new motor trans and rear. All the interior was restored with original (i still remember the conversation with our interior guy about the crazy cost).

Long story longer we ended up selling the car to a really good family friend due to military moves, with the understanding that if he ever sold it, he would give us 1st dibbs. well we got a hart breaking call from him, that he had been diagnosed with a terminal illness. so now the car is back home in my garage. im Stoked to have her back, but never wanted it like this.

The car is in "great" shape. lol. My buddy had her for 12 years, and put 3100 miles on her. He was a professional mechanic, and this car was his tinker toy. He ripped all the suspension out, all new exhaust (didnt like my cutouts). The car sits great, i cant wait to drive her. some of the rust is coming back, so im not sure what all is going to have to happen to get rid of that again. She needs a LOT of cleaning, but all in all the car is in awesome chape

The bad right off the bat that need work to be able to drive her,

1. I have no brakes. Could be a bad master, Could just need a good bleed. Like i said everything underneath of her is new.

2. Oil pressure. Not sure whats up with it. I have a feeling the oil pressure sending unit is taking a crap. My low oil dummy light is inop. Pulling the car on the trailer, i had about 4psi. That said i fired her up last night and mover her further into the garage and at first start up i had around 20 psi. After a min of running my pressure dropped off. The last car i had that did this, the sender sat right next to my headers, and basically cooked it. Hopefully its a sender unit and not something internal.

3. I have a Gen light on? Possible alt. Maybe a faulty sensor. more to come on that one

4. Fixed it last night and it made me laugh. when we got the car, she fired up, drove around the block and on the trailer. when we got home she didnt want to fire up. poured a little fuel in the carb and she came to life. Drove my boy around the block and up in the garage. last night again, wouldnt start. poured some fuel in the carb, she fired burped and died. I thought.... hmmm fuel gauge says a little over 1/4. i had about 2 gallons of high test in the gas can. poured it in. Sounded like i was pouring into an empty tin can. Not a drop of fuel in her.

anyhow Thanks for all the info and knowledge here. im sure ill be picking brains. Its been a while since ive had anything old to play with.

now for pics
