The bottom lines up pretty good and the top looks real close it's like it has wide hips lol

Here is a pic before working door and fender now there is only like two bolts holding this on but you can see it still has that gap in the middle

Okay I might be my own demon as I had a broken off bolt on the fender inside the jam area so we welded it up grinded flat and retapped it. Well it was subpost to have wiggle play lol. Okay I have the right fender really close top lines great nice and even but just a tad low on the side body lines so I need to lift up or something, maybe to many shims at the bottom

Some miner modification. I guess this is why assembly before paint is good but really I don't think I could do this twice lol

Okay so here is the right fender I think I need to pull one shim from the bottom and move it to the top and hopefully it won't be to high where it meets the a piller

I guess the upper pic is an optical illusion, the top ridge looks low.

Thanks block sanding wasn't too
Bad at all I was nervous as I want a pretty straight body from lower body line up I decided to keep the factory spot weld on the lower side I stead of skimming it, not looking for a show car just better than factory
I talked my painter in helping me with the block sanding he made it look easy even tho I am positive he was just cleaning up after me lol

I hear you, I have drivers and then all out cars that sit in the garage. The drivers are a hole more fun.
I am hoping to get back on mine soon, building a rotisserie right now for the body, found plan on line for 12 bucks and I have about $300 in metal, nuts and bolts. I think I will have about 400 in it when I am done.

You've come a long way with this. Nice shop to be in to get some work done too.

Did I miss your time line? Are looking to completely be done soon or maybe next spring? Just curious, about those Utah winters

Yes, it's been rainy here so it's been killing me. we should have painted today, we ran out of sand paper it killed me my buddy didn't feel well so we called it a day.
my goal is paint this up coming weekend my goal is spring to be on the road, but between motor rebuild and window seals it might be pushing the budget a bit

Shop is great I think I have surly pushed my limits tho my employer has been great for allowing me to use it after hrs even tho I don't work for the body shop side if the business

Thanks guys, I couldn't be happer for me doing most of the metal work this turned out great! my buddy did the quarters and the lead work needed and helped me along my way of metal finishing. I did trade work for the block sanding and I helped with it,also I did trade work for the paint work . I got a screaming deal on the clear as it needed to go back to ppg as of July . A big thanks to the friends that helped me and my dealer ship for allowing me to do all of this there even tho at times it was just in the way.

Here is a pic of her in the trailer

A extra big thanks to John (2blu442) he sold me most of the parts needed and when I was in a bind sent me parts I needed fast also to Shane , JATA , honest Dave , solo and a few others.

Played around with the car today

2089BCA1-0CD6-42B3-89CE-6C9B5984E407.jpg

Where I seamed the quarter was a bad spot right in a mounting screw and I glued it in so I could remove easily if needed at a later date

This is the result I think I can get help putting pressure on it to suck it up just need a hand

Can't wait to see it all back together. Those small imperfections give it personality, and it gives you a story to tell.
