Hi guys,

A bit more progress on the cutty:

We prepared everything for hood installation....
Mounted the hood, its not adjusted yet, it will be a pain to adjust i guess....

Then i didnt like the last exhaust clamp on the tail pipe, so i decided to weld on the hanger directly.... it looks much better....
Still i am thinking about some exhaust tips, maybe some trumpets?!?!?!
Any suggests....???

What are you guys thinking about the wheelwell moldings, its a must i think????!!!!! Its all about chrome isnt it??

So far,
Regards Torsten

Thanks guys!!!!!!

Your gas pedal is upside down.
THANKS MAN!!!!! I did no picture when i dissasembled the pedal with the spring.... so this is why i spend about 30minutes thinking about how to get it together and why the spring wont fit now... I will fix that ASAP....

Some pictures from the progress yesterday:

Ive installed the new bucket seats from Procar, bolted in the door strikers and adjusted the doors....

Ive prepared the new front bumper for installation.... the predrilled holes for the parking light housings didnt line up in the bumper, so i had to drill new ones....

Regards,
Torsten

Hi guys!

Here the progress of the last couple of days:

Interior is almost complete, just some final touches like dome lamp and so ... and of course turn the gas pedal

The Front of the Car is complete and she looks so nice....
Im not very happy with the new Bumper but we made it fit ....
it was bent to much down across the headlights....

Fluids and of course gas were filled......
The brake system we bleeded today....

Yesterday we decided to look what happens when i turn the key 2!!!! times, i thought all lamps have to light up but then the engine starts to crank?????????

There s something wrong but i dont know where at this time....

So thats it for now..

I will keep u posted!!!

Regards,
Torsten

I find it hard to align the hood with the fender, the line side is perfect but you should be under where the lights still more air to one side.
I hope you understand me?

Olds67 you´re right the bumper fit is not perfect yet... we have to move it about 5mm to the drivers side... The line across the headlights we cant change more perfect.... we bent it with a piece of wood that was hard enough.... remember its 3mm detroit iron

Newest updates: We prepared and installed the new windshield...
The chrome moldings wont hold in place with the clips so we decided to apply some small sealer points to the moldings and secured them with tape ....

Good news with the ignition; my false (but i did not know that)
When you convert from oe ignition to HEI you have to leave the yellow wire from the ignition coil to the starter....
Also the ignition module has some false so i have to wait for my new one....
Engine cranks but it misses that little 50000 Volt thing to make me feel good.....
Next progress is, i have to convert everything to German Guidelines: seperated fused Brake and Flash lights in the rear.... some electric work again...... hate that .....

I will keep u guys posted and of course i will upload the video of the first start up....

Thanks,
Torsten

Looking sweet, dude!
I am impressed with how those aftermarket front seats fit in to the rest of the interior - nice match...

Looks like one of the guys above really has a passion for Olds by sporting a "Cutlass" tat!
The other buy has his hand over his face, as if he is thinking "we used the wrong moulding clips!" or something...

Looks like you should be on the road soon!

BTW, why was the hood taped open way above?

Thanks rob!!!

Yeah i know this guy with emblems on his skin...LOL he`s a real olds freak....

The "windowguy" was a real pro!, it was a pleasure to work with him... he did great work and cares about every thousands of an inch! Just WOW!

Yeah with the tape... ive just bolted on the hood and didnt adjusted the hood. I had to move the fenders and core support for fit, so at this point the hood would hit the fenders so i decided to put a warning on that thing!

I like the seats, too. they are very comfy and look something like a stock seat....

So guys after a lot of testing, metering and loosing the nervs i got this baby firing....

Not the first start up but the first little idling and cruise:

Hi guys,
At first i wish all of you a happy new year and a good start in 2011!!!!

Ive worked in Münster exactly a half year and had no chance to work on my little sweetheart.....

So the last two weeks my dad and me did the whole electric work on my car... I really had pain with the hazard flasher... it ended up that the flasher relais was bad......
But now everything works.

I had to clean my cutty cause my buddy " Mad Moggl" decided to do some body work and sanding without a vacuum so my car was full of dirt....

So today ive finally bolted on my hood louvers... i had to wait for the thread cutting nuts (you dont get them in Germany)...

BTW: which paint color did the louver bezels come originally???

Also i assembled the gauges and the radio to my console and did some wiring under the dash....

I will attach some chrome molding or something between the leather and the wood foil couse i dont like the transition between...

Then I find out that my blower motor doesnt work anymore...... damn.....

Yep, it feels good to do some work on my car again...

So here´s the finished console on its place with and without 12+ volt.
Ive tried to take a picture without flash, so that you can see the backlight from the gauges but i could not get a sharp one... (time for a new camera..?!?!) i will try again soon ...

Here we go:

THanks Guys!!!!

Im glad you like it!

So my newest achievement i got it from a guy from eb*y germany, he didnt know from which car they came out of....
He had them in his 57 F*rd pick up ????
I paid 80€ for both, that will be 110 -120 $, shipping included...
Still cant believe it...

The only thing is that there were no seat tracks and headrests on them, but the plastic aprons are still in a rebuildable condition....

Punch in the face: ive ordered Bf Goodies for my SS1`s one month ago and now there were on a expected arrive at summit on 1st of april...damn ... that is definately to late.....
Ive wrote them an email if i can change to some similar tires with SWL´s... lets see what they answer...

In Germany ive checked the biggest 10 tire companys for Tires in 235 and 255 /60 15 with SWL´s and no one can make an offer....
Some one smokes to much tires....

To be continued....
Best Regards
Torsten

Back with a little bit of progress, guys....

Ive dissasembled the plastic covers from the seats and cleaned them,
plastic primed and painted it in a semi gloss black finish to match the ordered "S" Seat Covers.... They turned out nicely
Also ive ordered new "shoes" for my SS1´s, they are now from Mickey Thompson.....
I could change my order at summit, they have a cool service!

Here the pictures

Hi guys after a lot of stress with my tires i got the next smackdowns.....

At first i wanted get my tires on the ss1`s and balance my wheels lug centric, as they recommended. So i went to a nice company near home....

Tires are mounted, now they want to balance but they missed 2 lug bolts, they had to order them.... this took exactly 1 week....

Yesterday i could pick them up

I cleaned up the blue protection layer from the White letters...
"jumped" on the car jack and bolted them on.....
Nothing special.... I thought

After a while Sean and Axel came over, they wanted to see them on the cutty, too....

Sean prepared everything with his cam, we decided to move from the car jack to outside and shoot some nice pictures....

So i fired the 455 up and choose the Reverse gear...
The car doesnt move, i thought maybe the tranny wants a few minutes to warm up a bit, so i let it idle for about 3 minutes and tried again....
nothin
Tried all gears.... nothing
Maybe the parking brake doesnt release - checked - nothing
The tranny is wrecked - (not F$ckin again) no

We moved the car up and saw that the rear brake caliper and bolt stuck against the wheel
This is about 1-2mm i guess maybe less but it sticks....
I really did not notice anything when i bolted on the rear wheels...
Hopefully i did not bent/overbent something ....

DAMN it,
dont know what to do at this point..... im really confused, a little pi$$ed to Right stuff detailing cause they recommend at least 15" rims with their kit and it doesnt fit anyway .....

But thats not all...:

The RH brake line bracket on the rear axle, ive welded, let me say 3 cm, too wide against the shock absorber, now it hits the shock.... My mistake grrrrrr.

Thats it for now LOL...

Regards Torsten

wow, incredible , that kind of work is beyond me , impressed......how are you going to do the INSIDE roof area with the rust behind the doubled up metal areas....like by the rear window on the sides , and also the fenders on mine need spot welds removed that hold the brace on , so i can get to some rusty areas and then have them re-spot welded in place.....anything i need to know about that? Thanks Bryan,

My inner rear roof and sail panel wasnt that bad, so i did some sanding, after that i used FERTAN rust converter (dont know if you know that in the US, you have similar stuff for sure) and after drying i sprayed everything with a chamber wax with 360° nozzle....

So, after a lot of experiments and trying to fit the rear wheels to my discs.... JUST FOR THE TÜV (MOT)
I decided to go backwards with original drums....
Ive ordered just a couple of things that i need to convert back.
Prop. Valve, Master Cylinder and rear axle brake lines..
also ive ordered new shoes and hardware...

At this point i will unbolt the rear axle to cut off the brake line brackets for the disc conversion because i dont have the room to get by.

Then i will bolt in my Limited Slip Carrier with 3.42 Richmond gears ive ordered from DTS, when the rear end is on the floor, i think this will make the swap much easier...
Whats about your experience with change the carrier and gears, if the axle is bolted to the car or on the floor????

I will be back on Friday to start again with dissasembling the rear.....LOL

So i will keep u posted with pictures soon, i promise!

Regards,
Torsten

Great work my friend!
I am impressed with your gauge housing. Looks like it belongs there, allright!
Glad to hear the tranny is okay. The brakes will be easier to fix (I think.....)

I sure envy someone who can get so much progress done at one sitting. Maybe I should remove the "sitting around with a beer" times as I work...
