The belief is that they were all red to start off with and some have faded to blue.
I'm not quite sure red CAN "fade" to blue?
But I'd have to say red is the correct original color, although I have personally seen just as many blue ones.
I think it’s interesting that there are three distinct colors. Doesn’t seem to be anything in between like kind of red or kind of blue. They’re all either blue red or the gold color that I’m talking about there doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason for though.

I got the see it in person. What an amazing car and accomplishment!!!
I’ll say it over and over…. I won the battle “REDLINES OUT!!!!” 😂😂😂😂😂
so happy for you my friend
Moving and grooving.
trying to make up for the delay in getting this back.
(we discussed a march-April delivery date…June 12th sets me behind schedule)
Dynamat and final dash install.
And a HUGE thank you to Mike Richards for a gorgeous Wiper bezel!!!
That's coming along , are you feeling any sense of accomplishment yet? It's like building a big model car. That's how I felt when I put the 64 together. Sweet if I could roll back the clock I would do another "post car" 64-65...
A couple of things…
after I got home with the car I realized the paint wasn’t cut and buffed properly on the roof and hood. Lotsa little scratches and an overall cloudiness.
But the painter traveled 6 hours and stayed overnight at my house to correct it. NOW…it’s flawless.
After that…just cleaning and trying to bolt things together and get the interior ready.
Peter, your car is really looking great. I can't wait to see it in person and meet you. Are you planning on going to the National meet?
I realize you just may not have gotten to it yet, but your missing the clips or retainers that hold the wiper hoses to the cowl. There are three different pieces for them.
Thank you man!
I'm really not sure...but I don't think I'll finish the car by then...but I'm definitely going to the Nats.
These are the only clips I've found for the hoses.
I believe this is the one for the LH side corner...not sure what the others even look like.
Any ideas?
Always welcome your tips!

Next year then!
The corner one is the black plastic loop type; they used the same clip in different lengths for other applications like for the wire harness along the top of the core support and on some cars for the wiring along the valve cover. The other two for the cowl are white plastic; one is large enough to both hoses and one is smaller for one hose. I'll take a pic of mine and post it for you later.
This weekend was good...
-installed door handles and locks.
-started installing the front wire harness, which included restoring an old horn relay because the new replacement is dreadful
-wired the starter which was a biatch with this headers
-ran the Speedo to the GV
-filled the rear diff with fluid after stripping the fill plug(12 bolt narrowed 2”…added spacers)
-cleaned A LOT under the car(Note to self: don’t deliver a fully detailed chassis to a body shop in the future)
-painted all the interior window lace,
-installed the trans dipstick which won't match stock because of the 400, but I cut it low to hide it a bit.
-bolted up torque converter
-filled up the diff after stripping the fill plug.
Yes that is the correct oil filler tube cap for the '65 442 (and for the Cutlass). So is the breather and tube on the right side valve cover.
Both are correct. If your car had K66 emissions you got the top hat and a PCV valve. You also got a separate label on the oil fill tube below the engine code sticker.
Not sure where to start…all the little things seem to add up to a lot of time to get just right.
-I have to replace the resistor wire in my new American Autowire harness because I’m using and MSD distributor…finding a Delphi twin-lok bulkhead pin is near impossible.
-I have to install the rest of the vintage air set up…and I’m waiting on new hose end hardware because the angles of the ones they give you for a Pontiac make for a messy install on an Olds
-redo my steering wheel paint because I didn’t like the finish I laid down after seeing TK-65’s in Springfield last week. Had to cut a double D pattern in my steering shaft for the new rag joint eliminator coupling.
Get the new driveshaft made to accommodate the GV unit.
i really didn’t want to put any trim on until I was done with the hard stuff, but I needed a quick win to feel good about so I added the NOS hood lip, short spear and emblem for fun one night.
Car looks great and your workmanship is fantastic. Are you planning to use the Vintage Air evaporator unit under the dash and is that the Sanden 508 compressor? Where are you planning to place air outlets? I'm in the researching phase of installing a/c in my 67.
