I was working on my 72 Supreme last week and noticed something that didn't look right and also could be the reason why I'm having trouble with the door seal staying intact when I close the door.
Take a look at this pic and you'll see the "bead" that runs along the front of the rear interior panel is sticking out. My guess is that it's actually hitting against the door seal. Question is, how is supposed to actually be? The passenger side actually "rolls" inward and tucks underneath the panel and I have no trouble with the door seal on that side.
the bead should be tucked in under the panel as you mention BUT it also looks like the rubber "U jamb" piece is sticking out quite a bit. That screw and molding should be tightened down.
Take a better pic as well....maybe from a slight angle.

I trimmed the end off at an angle so hopefully that will take care of it. I wasn't having trouble with the door closing. The issue was the top of the door seal where it goes around the top of the door kept getting pushed out of place . I'll see what happens. In the meantime, if those screws are wrong, what ones do I need?

Dave, the windlass is the original to the car? If so it's not been installed correctly. Much as I hate to say it, go back and reinstall the interior quarter door card, it's not seated properly. The trim screws for the door jamb seal are Phillips. Chances are you've over sized the holes with those self tapping metal screws. Look at the diagrams on page 13-10 and diagram 13-29 on page 13-15 of the 1972 Fisher Body Service manual. I suspect a PO has drilled other holes to attach the windlass trim, or it isn't secured at all like it's supposed to be.
