1984 Oldsmobile Delta 88 seats

Hello All, i am looking to swap out the 60/40 front seats of my 84 Delta 88 (b body) to Bucket Seats since i Autocross the car. i am wondering if anyone has done this before? if there are Brackets that i can use to install the new seats? or if i can dismount the seats from the original brackets and attach my new seats to those? or if the mounting from a g body would work for the b body? any information would be great.

Bucket seats were available in the 78-81 Holiday 88s. Those wouldn't be much more suited to Autocross than your 60/40 bench seat though. Even bucket seats from an 80s Cutlass wouldn't be that appropriate for Autocross. I suggest you buy aftermarket seats and make them fit in your car. Make sure you add gussets to the floorboard where you attach the seats. It wouldn't do you much good to just drill a hole and use a bolt/nut.

Are the buckets from a Cutlass? If so, I doubt they would fit in your Delta 88 without modification.

they are aftermarket bucket seats, they were installed previously in a Monte Carlo but they do not have brackets, my thought originally to modify the existing seat frames to accept the different seats

If you modify the seat frames to fit the aftermarket seats you can be sure everything will fit properly. Just don't change the way the bracket bolts to the floorpan. Also, you would want to make sure you don't weaken the seats if they need modification.

The 64/40 bench uses the same floor pan brackets and seat tracks as do the buckets.
