Retorque intake manifold bolts - Oldsmobile 307
Hello - I recently replaced my intake manifold gasket on my car with an Oldsmobile 307 engine. As I understand you are supposed to retorque them after the first couple heat cycles.
As it turns out since I had a lot of work to do on the car I ended retorqued the bolts about 5 times (every day I went out to work on the car I'd start by torquing the intake manifold). The first two times I did this I did end up tightening the bolts before the wrench clicked. After that the wrench more or less instantly clicked.
Is that good enough? I figured from the factory or if I took it to a mechanic they would not retorque it.
Admittedly I am just trying to avoid removing a bunch of stuff off the engine so I can get at the bolts again.
The engine runs beautifully, I definitely fixed a vacuum leak in the manifold (or maybe one of the lines I replaced was bad) because it runs, sounds, and drives so much better now.
