Retorque intake manifold bolts - Oldsmobile 307

Hello - I recently replaced my intake manifold gasket on my car with an Oldsmobile 307 engine. As I understand you are supposed to retorque them after the first couple heat cycles.

As it turns out since I had a lot of work to do on the car I ended retorqued the bolts about 5 times (every day I went out to work on the car I'd start by torquing the intake manifold). The first two times I did this I did end up tightening the bolts before the wrench clicked. After that the wrench more or less instantly clicked.

Is that good enough? I figured from the factory or if I took it to a mechanic they would not retorque it.

Admittedly I am just trying to avoid removing a bunch of stuff off the engine so I can get at the bolts again.

The engine runs beautifully, I definitely fixed a vacuum leak in the manifold (or maybe one of the lines I replaced was bad) because it runs, sounds, and drives so much better now.

Best practice is to retorque the gasket. I'm not sure if it's mentioned in the Factory Service Manual though.

Should be good enough if you're not getting any more movement out of the bolts. 3rd time should have done it at most.

IMO you're good to go. I'd resist tightening them anymore as it unnecessarily disturbs the seal...it may do more harm than good.

If you see no oil seepage on any bolt leave them alone.
