'71 Vista Cruiser rocker trim removal ?
How do you remove the rocker tim on the '68 to '72 Vistas? I tried pushing down the top of the trim and pulling out the lower edge but no luck. I don't want to ruin the trim as both sides are in excellent shape.
Thanks, Karl

Thanks Tom.
A clarification - Do you (carefully) pry off the clip from the rocker, or pry off the trim from the clip?
It's been a while since I had my '68 Caprice with a vinyl top but I seem to remeber the rear trim at the base of the vinyl attached to plastic clips. I think those clips were held in with studs. Is this the same as the VC?

Ah, found it!
Didn't realize the rocker trim is not a Fisher Body item, so it shows the installation in the Assembly Manual, section 11, pg 164. Looks like I need to carfully get under the base of the clip and pull it out.

Yes, for the rocker panels the clip comes off with the trim. The clips simply push into holes (1/4" or so) drilled in the rocker and fender. For the lower quarter strips, the clips go over studs spot welded to the car and then the trim goes on.
