70 Cutlass White or Black Emblem

Probably asked before- when do you use a white or black paint color 70 Cutlass fender or trunk emblem?

I thought the '70 Cutlass emblems all had black highlight paint, regardless of the car's paint color - or am I misunderstanding your question?

I'm seeing white and black painted Cutlass emblems on eBay, not sure which one goes with what.....
