Bear with me, this is supposed to be a poll.I'd like to get some opinion on stripe colour for a black 70 Cutlass.I'm thinking of the following:
1) white
2) gold
3) platinum (yes, I know it's not an offered factory stripe colour.)

I've seen pics of a triple green Cutlass convertible with a light green stripe that was supposedly factory done. Any comments welcome.

 

Personally I like the black/red combo but I chose black/gold which is very nice also.

 

Tough choice, white and gold are both really cool accents. Platinum?? Is that like a silver color?

Black and white provides a nice contrast. Ben over on ROP has a '70 W-31 that is black and white. What factory stripe color did your W-31 come with?

 

When I first saw the black/gold combo years ago, I thought it was sharp, but now it seems everyone is doing it, far more than the factory ever produced. I like the black with white combo.

 

Well....Guess which color I pick.....

Although I like the red and one day want to do a hard top with red stripes and red interior. I saw gold stripes on a convertible with dark sadle and thought it looked good.

 

Platinum, if I remember right, was a 70's option colour.It was a charcoal-grey.The car WAS ordered WITH a BLACK stripe originally.(I didn't know about stripe delete and never saw a single "W" car without a stripe.)

When the car was delivered, I was in the showroom talking to my salesman.One of my friends was looking out the window and said,"Hey Bunse! There's a black Cutlass with white stripes being unloaded out front.It looks like a big skunk!"

 

I think the platinum would look good. That's what I voted for, but the red stripes would really look nice on it.

 

Not a lover of black cars. I like looking at them, just don't like owning them.
BUT, how about;

- Metallic black for the stripes. The metallic would give the striped area some POP with a ghost effect.
- How about a very dark metallic grey or silver.
- Instead of red, what about a Black Cherry metallic.

Ok,Ok, I like metallics. But man would'nt any of those colors on a fine black paint job look great or what?

 

that would be great looking, black cherry stripe or a ghost black stripe that would look really cool. I voted gold, but if you are willing to go different I'd go with gearheads suggestions

 

So the car came from the factory black with a black stripe if I'm understanding this right? There are a couple of W-Machines registered on the W-Machine Registry site that were ordered stripe delete. The red W-30 had a gold stripe added, but came from the factory with stripe delete.I believe this Aegean Aqua car was another factory stripe delete car.
