To stripe or not to stripe... Olds is going to the body shop soon what should I do?

What I have is a 69 olds with a 68 front. Its going to the body shop to get sand blasted, bondo, rust removal and sheet metal work done. Then its going to get painted. Whats locked down is Metalic Electric blue for the body and Artic White for the hood. I was experimenting with stripes on the hood. What does everyone think. Should I change them up make them bigger, smaller, eliminate them, any ideas would be helpful. I have to make up my mind soon. Send ideas.

Thanks

IMHO

Wimbelton white and blue stripes belong on a Ferd GT 350/500

leave it all white

throw some white rims and dog dishes on it with redlines.

What about gold stripes the same a color as a Hurst Olds? When it comes to colors I usually don't have a clue but I thought I'd throw it out there.

I vote for no stripes. If you do go with stripes, I wouldn't put them on the rear. Rear stripes is a Chebby thing, and we certainly don't want to give *that* impression!

I agree, I am not going with the stripes on the trunk, it just doesnt look right to me. I know the wimbelton white is a ford color but its free paint. Can't complain about free paint .

Stripes are for prisoners, zebras and people who want to look thinner(or larger depending on which way the stripes are going)

I like the 68 style side stripes maybe a dark burgandy against the white would be cool...

I'd ditch the band-aid stripes myself. Only look good on 70-72's with a the OAI hood, IMO.

I dunno. I like stripes.

But then some folks see 'em as cliche.

I say who cares what everybody thinks. Paint a big pink dinosaur on it if that's what YOU'VE always wanted to do!

I like stripes, my first cutlass was green with yellow stripes It was nicknamed the packer, The 68 hood is just kinda hard to stripe. I thing my stripes need to be in a little bit, but I dont know I think it looks good. At the same time I like both

Body work,

The car is in the shop, I am not going with the stripes, the body is getting sprayed "metalic electic blue" and the hood is being sprayed "artic White". All the badges are being eliminated and the holes filled in, the vinly top is going by by, and the side trim is going to be gone. I was going to shave the door handles and the trunk lock but changed my mind (an extra 350 didnt work together with my pocket book). It should be finished in about 2 to 3 weeks. I cant wait to get it back.

I like the trunk lid stripe, I wish I had the right hood to be striped, but I like the 68 hood too.

I have stripes on my 57 Olds, but since the sand and buff, they are hardly seen; very muted and they now look more interesting than before; like a mystery. You have to get right up on the car to see them.

No stripes is my vote.

Check out Nilsson 68 442 as he has 2 stripes on the hood ( narrow ones ) and the stripes on the side.
