68 442 ignition lock cylinder removal

I removed the dash in my vehicle, I am installing a new harness and clock since the dash is out already I had problems with my ignition lock cylinder at times would not turn possible key or tumbler issue I want to remove the cylinder and don't know the proper procedure to remove it, im afraid of twisting it to remove it and the plastic may crack, if someone has knowledge of removing the cylinder I would appreciate your help thanks

It has to turn or be drilled out.
Turn to ACC
put wire [paper clip] into teensy hole
turn MORE CCW past ACC
remove wire
turn as far CCW as possible
extract lock cylinder by pulling.

Beware that similar Chevy parts DO NOT fit right.
Use the right part.

I'll add that you should squirt some lock lubricant into the slot before trying to extrract the cylinder.

thanks for the quick response, i did as was told and it came out easily i'm thankful for the response because i wouldn't of thought it had a release inside it, i thought the complete ignition switch and lock assembly came out as one thanks again
