My old '79 caprice station wagon was called 'The Mighty Wagon' because it would drive through anything, expecially big snow drifts. I used it to pull many people out of the ditch after a big snowstorm years ago.
I had a '79 Acadian called 'Gen' because the generator light never turned off.
The Oldsmobiles are simply called 'The Hurst' (Hurst Olds) and 'Daddys old car'.(Starfire)

I call my 68 Delmont 88, "Dellie" and my 72 Vette "Sting Rat" because of the rubber rat that rides on my dashboard. I've always named my cars. Some of my cars names were "Leaky Lincoln", "Sally Sable", "Connie Continental", "BIG RED"(my 1st truck) "Whitey"(my 2nd truck") "Quadtro" (my current truck) I've drove a "POS Pontiac", and a "Rockin Rod Charger" which wasn't' because it was fast. My wife's Cougar is called "The Cat"

My cars all have ethnic names I guess
The Alero is named "Redog" (Red Dog) no I'm not an alkie, my dog painted himself red after playing with a dark red spray paint can but on his white fur the red wa a "Bright Red" same color as the Alero
The Alitma is "Smokey" the color is "smoke"
The Delta was Onyx Jett. The factory color was "Lamp Black" and it was a Delta, and was going to be a 12 second car when I was done, that's where "Jett" came from. For short is was OJ, Black car with a tan 1/4 roof
My other cars where "Mr Rosie" the pink Hyundai Accent, "Tom Cat" the light blue Mercury Cougar (blue like Tom in Tom and Jerry) and "BlackJack" the Black Chevy Cavalier.

Growing up, the family cars always had names. There was "Old Smokey" dad's '55 Studebaker and "Boney Maroney", '65 Chevelle. I think that was a period rock 'n roll in about that time. My first car was a '71 VW Super Beetle named "Dammit" ("let's go to school now, Dammit" The brakes were *****, so a frequent panic scream was "Stop, Dammit, Stop!") Later, I obtained a second, identical '71 Beetle, so they were named "Bug 1" and "Bug 2". First car I ever purchased was an '82 Pontiac J2000. The power brake booster made this odd cow like moo-ing sound, so she quickly became "Elsie" (remember the Borden cow?). None of my more modern cars have had names that really "stuck" like those. Need something for my '72 vertible...

1972 Cutlass Supreme Convertible - "Lady"
The license plate that was on her when I bought her was "OTRWOMN"
On the 1700 mile journey home from South Carolina, I was calling her "Lady" and the name just stuck. She was the center of attention wherever I went, much like my ex-girlfriend was when we were together...
1986 Cutlass Supreme Coupe - "Pristine"
She was once flawless when I got her and she earned her name; better than the garage queen I thought. However she is not as pristine as she was then... Her Gold paint is all chalked up on top and the engine leaks.
I consider it a spin off of Christine now...
1978 Ford Pinto "Old Faithful"
After having this thing in the family since new, the only time it died on the road was when i neglected to change the timing belt again after 120K. That day was 2-29-2000, so I blamed it on not being leap year 2000 ready...
Now that I have "Lady", this one is also called "the Tramp", as it has been in 6 wrecks and lived to show it... All were the faults of stupid dallas drivers.
1997 Cadillac STS "Blood Red"
It is blood red in color...
1999 Harley Davidson Sportster - "the Freedom Machine"
No real official name for the bike, but the name sure describes the feeling!

my starfire was always Casper when I was a kid (grandma told us Casper the friendly ghost was rolling up the windows) but now my five year old daughter calls her minty (red and white like a peppermint)

Not very original but I called my original 69 Cutlass "Christine" after the movie. She didn't fix herself after getting broadsided though so I guess that name was inappropriate. Thinking about calling my project car "Killer" cause the previous owner was named Killebrew.
