1970 Convertible Pump Bleeding
1970 Convertible Pump Bleeding
I did a search on bleeding the system with the trans fluid for the power top motor and cylinders, and the majority of responses indicated it's a "self-bleeding" system. The Fisher Body manual tells me otherwise. Is the best approach to fill the pump a little, cycle, and continue filling? I have new cylinders and hosing I'll be installing and the system is currently empty.
The way I have always done it, and all hydrolic systems (cars and tractors) is fill it up with fluid, operate the system up and down, then refill the reservoir and repeat till you can't add any more fluid and there is no growing noise coming from the cylinder as a trapped air bubble. As far as I know, there isn't a bleeder on a car cylinder. Tedd
