Convertible Top Motor

Good Morning,

Can any one tell me the best was to fill a convertible top motor with fluid on a 71 Supreme.

Most of the stuff I saw were for more modern convertibles. Also, I was going to use Dex III tranny fluid. Is that correct ?

Thank you....

Tim

Fisher Body Service Manual says fill with Type A or Dextron. The hyd pump motors in my exp have either a rubber plug or a small screw cap on the reservoir section of the pump for refilling. The pump is back behind the center of the rear seat. In my exp these don't leak. If it's low then one of the actuator cylinders are leaking. You can refill but depending on how bad the leaking is it can take days to months/years to run back low.

The internet is your friend. There's a lot more where this came from.
