Mufflers

Looking for recommendation for mufflers on my 70 442. It has 3" stainless steel pipes all the way back with turbo mufflers. Am looking to quiet it done some. Nice mellow sound.

I have dyno max siper turbos, the car has a aggressive tone at WOT, but is quiet enough for conversation on the road. Manga flow is another good one, but kinda expensive

My brother switched to Walker Quiet-Flow mufflers from Flowmasters on this Rallye to get got rid of the dreadful droning. The car now has the factory rumble sound out the tailpipes and no droning inside the car.

Thrush turbo mufflers are really mellow. The big plus is they are cheap. I had them on my Pontiac but went with amazon flowmaster knock offs. My olds has hooker are chambers which have no drone but are loud as all s**t . It does not help the mufflers dump at the rear axle. The sound great with tail pipes but that's not my style lol.

I've heard good things about the Dynomax mufflers.

I plan on changing the exhaust on my 71 98 as well. Right now it has Thrush glasspacks and is just too loud. You might consider going to a local exhaust shop to get the owner's opinion. He might have some house brand mufflers that can save you some money.

I put straight through polished Borlas on, they are mellow. You don’t need all that noise say from a flow master to be straight through. Million mile warranty too. My buddy already replace a flow master. Lol

I have dynomax super turbo on my 70. 463 under the hood, ARH headers and 3" exhaust all the way to the bumper. Nice and mellow at idle and low rpm, no annoying drone at cruising and gets louder at WOT.
Dynomax part #17792
Here is a clip.

For cruising comfort, it’s hard to beat Walker Super Turbos. Basically just a longer version of a standard turbo style muffler. Don’t think they come in SS.

Any long turbo muffler will probably provide the result you are looking for.

Like everyone's been saying, you can't beat Dynomax Super Turbo's for sound control and performance. They only make one length (14") in 3" offset/offset, but you'll find it does a great job of getting noise and drone under control.
http://classicmusclecarexhaust.com/p...flers-dyn17743- They're 10% off too!

Borla. The best. People usually don’t buy them. RcUse they aren’t the cheapest. Lifetime warranty says it all. Dynomax are too loud. Flow masters are junk. People think loud are free flowing. Wrong. Lol

"Dynomax are too loud"

You must have really sensitive hearing if you think these are too loud.
