Wtf???
Wtf???
This is allegedly a J88, has a 394, Slim Jim, and a Starfire console. Says it's in "very nice original condition".

Clearly the car is NOT a 1964 J88. Most likely scenario is that the car was either hit in the front end or had rusty fenders and the replacement nose was from a J88. They won't provide the VIN unless you give them your phone number, but obviously the VIN will tell what it really is.
Well, the second digit being a "3" shows the car as a J88...
Either the VIN tag has been swapped also, or somebody put a lot of work into swapping the 394/Slim Jim in place of the 330/Jetaway. It would be interesting to find out if the car has 4.75" or 5" wheel bolt circle and whether or not it has the 9.3" axle or the 8.2" axle. One would need to look carefully at the frame to see if it has the mounting tabs for the 330 (which are unique to the J88 frame) or if it is another full size frame that got swapped.

The ONLY engine ever factory installed in the 1964 Jetstar 88 was the 330, period.

Can you tell by the pics? They show the rear and one motor mount. I did own a J88 years back but I'm not knowledgeable enough to know what's what.

All I can say is HOLY $H!T.
This car has been seriously frankensteined. It clearly has the VIN from a 1964 J88. The rear axle is the 9.3 used in the "except J88" models. The engine and trans are also obviously not J88 factory-issue. The frame APPEARS to have the mounting tabs for the Jetaway trans crossmember used on the J88, as shown below, but it also has the bolted-in trans crossmember for the bellhousing mounts on the SlimJim. i can't find a photo of the area where the J88 motor mount tabs would be, so I can't tell about that. The VIN tag does not appear to have been swapped. This is clearly the illegitimate spawn of a J88 and another full size Olds. Purchase at your own risk.
