Today we did the CR 330, CR 335, US 243, back to 330 loop. Basically Burnet to Oatmeal to Bertram back to the ranch loop. Just a nice little ride with some time with my son.

We go out West 29 often but that sounds like a plan to me! Any cruise sounds good as long as we can keep up. Let me know as the details develop.

Dry fit the exhaust

Tonight I checked the exhaust fit up on my 66 Cutlass with 455 swap. 2.5" Pypes kit with "X" pipe and Street pro mufflers. So far so good.

Compared to Youtube vids of 350s and the videos posted here, I miss the typical Olds Locomotive sound a little.

On the other hand I don't have mufflers but rather large 20" to 25" glasspacks.

What gears are you running and what year is your Delta? My Mom had a Delta 88. 1976, with the Hurst stainless roof. Candy Apple Red. Super nice car.

Carpeted my trunk, built in my hood insulation mat, replaced some of the black/black/black/black spray-color "coded" engine bay wires with correct colors. Reconnected my heater core vac wires, started resealing the rear window, tried to get an overview of the A/C wiring...

Scooter did you got the 3:73 ? I suppose I will need a break in period as well. I didn't think about that, I just figured they would be good to go. I got the 3:42 so I'm still unsure what to expect .

Good Day in the Garage

Spent the morning looking for my coolant leak. Confirmed it wasn't the water pump but found the lower radiator hose leaking at the radiator connection. Tightened the clamp.
The afternoon was spent installing rear deck speakers for the new hidden stereo system. Seats out, empty the trunk and climb in. Man it used to be easier when I was younger. Have the wires hidden up to the front at the kick panels. Today I'll run them the rest of the way.

Opened the light cups a litte further, cleaned the edges and painted them afterwards, polished the stainless rings, fitted bulbs into my Hella H1 lights and cleaned everything a little.

Worked on a short in one of the courtesy lights and replaced a broken fuse holder on the radio, unfortunately I left the radio on (switch on ) and burned the points( why do I do stuff that when I know better).

The battery won't hold a good charge for more than two days so I can see a new one in my near future. I'll check it out and make sure that it's not losing juice through a short first but I think I have a cell going bad.

Wax the whole car then started polishing chrome till my fingers hurt still have about a acre to do but I can see light at the end of the tunnel. All I ask is for one more day of sunshine.......Tedd

Got all the conv chrome pulled from the donor Buick. Had to drill some screws out and did slightly bent one windshield piece. Took a lot longer to do than I thought. I also dropped the gas tank off at the rad shop.

Rebuilt a 7027156 carb for my 442,
replacing the 7029251. Runs much better.
Now if I can find a 66-67 big block choke coil.

Now what was the # on that stove again...

Replaced the heater hose that blew out on me on the way home from the Cruise In last nite. Luckily the 3 gallons of coolant under the rear tires didn't result in any more repairs and I had enough momentum to coast the remaining 1/2 mile home! My local NAPA had a replacement hose that worked well albeit not NOS or numbers matching.

Cleaned and smoothed down the air cleaner housing I got from oldspackrat, painted it, added the decal and fit it in.

A big thank you is due at this point, Scott! Not ony for the breather housing but for all the parts you "Berlin Airlifted"!

Narrowed down my non-working wiper washer to somethng mechanical with the cam-follower... Solenoid clicks, pump does not actuate.

Installed new crossover exhaust pipe. No leaks now. Spring bolts on the passenger side were a real bear to re-install. The flanges on the new pipe were a little heavier than the original pipe.

rigged a coat hanger to open hood till a part comes in. Drove it with the rebuilt carb I put on recently. Drives good but still hunts at idle. The last carb did not hunt as bad but stumbled on acceleration. Frustrating but solvable I'm sure.

Idle changes ,not smooth. Dips like it has a vacuum leak. Had to adjust idle screws out about six turns.

The rebuilder ran it on his test engine (a 350 I believe) 11 times and then sent it to me. I think it is something about my car.
