After going to the Veterans Day Parade in downtown Dallas today with my wife and daughter, I finally pulled the treadle vac out and got it boxed to ship to the rebuilder. It was special in that my youngest (8 years old) grandson came out and wanted to help me. When I pushed the jack up under the frame, he jacked it up till the jack made contact with the frame. Then he said "I can hand you tools". Then the most special part came when he gave me one of his metal airplanes for Veterans Day. I have to say, my eyes got a little wet as they are doing right now.

First, to each and every Veteran. Thank You!!
Your selflessness is what makes this Country great!!!

Well the plan was to paint the frame horns for the third time this week-end. I bet I get a special award for the only guy to paint the frame 3 times. And while I was at it, I was going to paint the firewall down to the first floor seam. As it turned out, the not too bad floorpan, turned into the not too good floorpan. So, I decided to go ahead and paint the frame horns.

Question- Where has everyone gotten their floorpans?

Sanded left quarter with the DA, just need to skim and block sand than first coat of primer my buddy worked on the right quarter while I was sanding the left. The right quarter shaping is coming along, but needed a bit more attention than we anticipated

did a little work on the F85 today got the timing cover on with the new gaskets. I could not do anymore as was a little too old today,
I do have one question on the 64 330 the timing mark goes on the right side its the side I took it off but back in 87 the timing chain was replaced by a so called someone that later on found out was a hack and not sure if it was actually on the right or left side am I correct that it belongs on the right side???

I bought a 1971 442 and I thought I was going to drop the original 455 fromit into my 1970 442. But it didn't pan out that way. I am still pulling theRocket 350 from the 70 442 in preparation of installing something moreappropriate, maybe a harden jet boat motor. Who knows?

Not what I did TO my Olds, but what I did FOR my Olds. Spent the week cleaning the garage out so it can have a nice warm home for the winter. Then when the snow flies I can spend some quality time with him/her/it.

I finally installed the rest of my gauges today. Water volt and electric oil gauge. Took car out for a quick test drive. I still need to install the lights on the back of gauges. However that will have to wait a few days as my back is killing me.

Well, today I've put the spark plug wires in, and tried to fire it up. There were 2 loud bangs. One so loud it nearly popped my ears. This one blew the muffler wide open in the back. The second wasn't as loud, but still loud. And the engine does not work, of course... Back to the drawing board.

I worried I was walking to close to mine while walking with heavy awkward parts from my other project parked next to it in the garage.

Installed newly re-cored radiator and changed trans filter and fluid on my '61 D88.
Also checked the ignition timing and found it to be way out. Wondered why it was such a pig to start lol.
Goes much better now, hopefully see improvements on 10 miles per gallon (UK) too!

Had a couple snow flurries yesterday so they threw salt down on the roads. So today I pulled the battery and put it on a charger......going to be a long winter.

Top up, spit shine and out on the town

I'm putting the top up giving the old girl a bath and headed for town for Thanksgiving dinner with the family.Probably do a little cruising coming and going just for fun.

Around Christmas we get together with my wifes family and their BMW convertible and cruse around viewing the lights singing carols with the tops down. As long as the weather holds out(no rain) its a blast for us and everyone else.....Tedd

Here in Missouri,it is about 19 degrees out. I got mine out for a drive, and found out she doesn't like the cold. 4 speed a little sluggish and also found new air leaks around window and floor under the dash. Oh well it gives me something to do when I am bored . Happy Thanksgiving to all. By the way .does anyone have a good opinion on disc brake conversion kit and a front end rebuild kit ?

I went with the right stuff detailing have yet to install, but read good things on them also I bought the ebay kit it was 644 to my door with the slotted and braided lines powder coated calipers booster and master included . I have been advised not to get the prebent lines form ebay to go to right stuff detailing or another vender that the ebay store has them but its for a rang of cars not pacific and will need more adjustments than normal

today, I talked with the wife on another core engine that I found. it is pre70 and I am hoping that I can get the pistons or maybe use my rotating assembly from the cracked block I scored awhile back if this is possible it will be rebuilt over the winter I could pay for the machine work a bit at a time

happy holidays every one

Winter coming to N. Texas

Been enjoying these last few beautiful days driving the Cutlass. Temp is to drop 40 degrees tonight and go down from there...

Time to put the top up - first time since the day I bought the car -
glad it worked, it was tight

Got my last top down ride last weekend - and then went in storage. Too bad I couldn't of had it out the last few days.

Today I pulled the dash (all the mounting studs remained intact) removed the body harness, trunk harness, front speaker, LH A/C vent duct work, defroster ducts, brake booster, vacuum tank, hinges, A/C lines, and compressor on the 70 W-30. It is so nice working on a car that isn't rusty and has never been apart before.

Top down and gone. I'm thinking # 7? Iv'e had 6 before,

Her directions sucked and I found myself down on

I drove mine. It's been finished since July 5th. I've put about 900 miles on it since. We are about to get snow here in Chicago so I thought I should drive it one last time before I can't for a few months. Of course the Tob went with me. He's my guy! I have a 66 Toro being delivered Monday I hope. It will come in the snow and right into the warehouse it will go.

Found and bought radio for my 64 jetstar88 to fill the hole left by ambitious teen son of previous owner who wanted a "stereo". Got radio from fellow member, by the way. What a great site!
