Took it for a short drive today! Only the 2nd this year. I am just swamped at work and getting burned out by the weekends. To many things to catch up on and I need some rest. Getting older sucks.

My '61 D88 has developed a slight misfire on startup, lasts about 30 seconds but runs great after this. Checked plugs and wires, vacuum hoses and all seem ok so suspect early head gasket failure. Did compression test and got readings of 120-135 so a little bit low but fairly consistent. Ordered a gasket set from Rockauto in anticipation!

Replaced another leaking core plug. This time I left the antifreeze out, going to replace the remaining plugs this week.

Promised.

Guys:
I put 4 new Gabriel shocks on the car, what an easy job when you don't have the pesky body or wheelwells and fenders to get in the way. I also got the wheelwells and core support prepped for etch primer, then get them and the core support sprayed in semi gloss black, wrapped and stored away. Looks good.
Thanks Ron

Finished the interior on the Super 88. Did it myself and only took three months! The toughest part by far was the windlace- four hours per door.

Fiddled with my radio and antenna. Think the power motor antenna is broken, but not unplugged. Can get a signal but it's choppy, and strangely cuts out when I hit a good sized bump. Need to take it to a friend that actually knows cars x.x

Yeah I know. I'm a contractor here in MI. I haven't seen it like this since the 90's. Been turning work down for this year since the first of June. Just the opposite of the winter from hell (weather) this year.

Smile took her out for a drive

95 plus here in St. Louis Mo. Took car out to stretch her legs. Was gone about an hour driving in town and on highway. Temps never got above 190 degress. Thanks to a rebuilt radiator and new anti freeze. Had a good time listening to tunes on new radio from family for fathers day and received numerous waves . Life is good

Guys:
Picked up some seam sealer in can and tubes to get the new floors and 1 piece trunk all sealed up and ready for prep later, pretty slimy and stinky stuff! Degreased the firewall and getting ready to MIG up some of the holes and clean up that area some for a smoother cleaner look.
Thanks Ron
