My wife can drive just about anything, stick or automatic, but wont' drive the 57 unless she has to. Tells me she likes the little things in life like power windows, trunk release, power entry system, defrosters that actually work, and last but not least a car that fits in today's parking spaces and still be able to open the door

My girlfriend has never even sat in the drivers seat of my 70 convertible! I told her she could drive it anytime she wants but she won't go near it. We went and got a 99 Mustang SVT Cobra convertible that she drives. It's a fun car too!

Wife likes all things retro and drives occasionally, maybe more next spring now that I got a minor leak in the fuel sender fixed. Also let a couple of friends drive on occasion and great to see their smiles from the passenger seat even if I am a little nervous/protective. Best one was a buddy who's high school car was a 70 Cutlass, should have seen his jaw drop when I just tossed him the keys.

My wife and I have been the proud owners of a '67 442 convertible since 1968. She used to drive it to work all the time, but since it has been totally restored, she refuses to drive it. She hasn't driven a stick shift in years and prefers her Peewee cruiser.

Id be okay with it. No matter who drives it on occaision youre still the one who put all the time and love and effort into it, and who drove it most, everyone will always recognize it as part of who you are. Its what makes hand-me-down cars so special "i inherited my dad's such-n-such". Which is another thing, you've gotta accept it sooner or later when it comes time to rightfully pass down that love to the next generation

She hasn't driven it yet. But I hope she will.
I wouldn't let her drive my last old car because it had manual drum brakes. On my 68 cutlass, I upgraded the front brakes to disks to make it safer. She hasn't driven it yet and comments that it's loud and it smells. What can I say, she's right.
