Spare?

Spare?
I have a 1969 442. I have one original tire (Goodyear polyglass). I want to do a good looking spare in the trunk with it. Please help!
The question is, am I stuck using an ssii wheel or is there something else that might fit better? The other wheels are all 14" ssii. The tire is a 14" too.
Thanks
Not mine but an idea of what I'm thinking. How did they place the spare from the factory?

I need to paint my jack for my 69 442. Pretty sure the base and handle are black, but the jack assembly and post are spraypainted silver. Is that correct?

do you have a picture of your spare? I asked because at the beginning of the 1969 model year - the REDLINE was the only POLYGLAS available & the RWL GOODYEAR tire was a "Goodyear Speedway" with "WIDE TREAD F70-14" in RWL - not sure if a RWL Polyglas became available later in the model year ??

SS wheels sat face up like in that diagram. Steel stamped wheels sat face down and used the jack base and a longer stud and a big wing nut to be held down. Bear in mind that all of these wheels were recessed compared to the tire on the side facing down, so it really just is a rubber inflated tire sitting on the trunk pan. Nothing will fit better or worse, unless you have something that pokes down lower than the bead on the bottom side.
If you want more room, get a universal donut that is smaller.

The base I guess? All I have is this spare and some random 'spare' parts in the trunk. I haven't gone through it to see what's there I'm just assuming it needs a bit of tlc. When you open the trunk all you should see is the spare?
Thanks

The bumper jack, which should not be used unless in emergency, sits under the tire. The stick is zinc chromide. The mechanism is semi gloss black, the base is semi gloss black. The bumper hook is semi gloss black. It has a pad for the bumper. They sit under the tire in a way that works, just wiggle it around. The bolt hook goes through the hoop in the trunk floor. It is parkerized.
Stick it up through a lug hole. Attach nut, which is parkerized. Hand tighten to start. Tighten by hand as much as you can go, then put a little bit from the lug wrench on it. Stow wrench.
