'69 H/O Original Spare Tire - Mount or Save?

I'll verify this tomorrow, but I believe I have the original spare tire for my '69 H/O.
If that is true, is it better to have it mounted onto a refurbished wheel (as a spare for car shows, etc.), or save it and mount a new (Goodyear Polyglas GT) tire on the spare wheel instead?
I have 5 new tires and 5 refurbished wheels.
Thanks.

Kinda cool to see an original spare in the trunk if it is decent shape but I'd NEVER depend on it to be useful..

This link (.PDF file) may assist you in identifying if the spare might be the original tire - in particular tires manufactured prior to 1980.

Norm,
The tire date code file you referenced was very helpful.
It confirmed the spare I have was produced in May of 1969.

Fred,
I decided to have a new tire mounted on the 5th (spare) wheel, in case for some reason I'd need to use it on the car.
Saving the original spare, which is in great shape.
