Quick Redline Question
This might be a dumb question, but I'm wiring an after market tachometer and was wondering what is the redline or way to figure out my redline. Its a 1972 Cutlass Supreme, 350, 4 Barrel, 3 speed automatic on the column.

Are you shifting the transmission manually or installing a shift kit?
If not, it doesn't matter. The transmission will shift when it was designed to, and if you observe where that point is, it is your redline. It will probably be around 4,500 RPM.
If you want to set the little marker at 5,000, go ahead - you should be able to get away with revving a stock engine to 5,000, though you aren't likely to get any more power out of it that way.
