Q Jet gaskets

Just did a rebuild on 70 Qjet # 7040251 RJ 2809. Kit came with two gaskets. One is very thin and has two openings for the secondary's. The other is 1/8" thick with grommets in the bolt holes and has a single opening for the secondary's. It's going back on my 442 restoration. It's going to be used as a cruiser with maybe an occasional session of painting the asphalt with black stripes. Any suggestions on which gasket to use ?

I would use the 4 hole thin gasket. I've experienced some off idle stumble using an open plenum gasket on a dual plane manifold. Those gaskets are for heat isolation, and are available with your manifold setup.

gaskets

Thanks. I thought the open array might be better suited for strip use / WOT application. I'll use the thin one

Or get yourself the insulator style 4 holer to keep heat wick at bay. Did you plug the crossovers in the heads or intake?
