I am looking for a pair of stock head gaskets for my 74 455. None of the auto parts stores have them. Anybody have a good source ?

Yes, I saw those, but most are .39 crushed thinkness or thicker. Stock is around .29. With a stock compression ratio of 8.2:1 I'm afraid to lower it even further with a thicker gasket. The copper that summit offers are .21 but are not really recommended for street use, and of course they're $115.00. Mondello has one,that they claim is similar to stock, but they want $130.00 plus shipping

 

I have a pair of Olds stamped steel at .017 ( expensive ) But you can get Corteco at .028 from BTR Performance for less than $60.00 pair...contact Bill Travato at BTR Perf.
