Spitzer took over the Milad dealership at the same location. I don't recall them selling any Oldsmobiles under the Spitzer name.

I just read all six pages of the Oldsmobile dealer list. Very interesting stuff. I had to laugh when I saw Weil Olds in Libertyville. I remember as a kid hearing their commercials on the radio about twenty times a day "It's a beautiful place in the country!"

My 70 Cutlass came from Jack Thompson Olds in Oak Lawn. I didn't realize they went out of business and the place demolished in 02. Anyone know why?

for a new car prep for delivery of a 2004 Alero GLS sedan with the collectos edition aka final 500. date of prep 04-05-04

To Kurt, I have the original window sticker for my 2004 Alero GLS coupe which was transfered to Crippen Olds/GMC for me to purchase new! I will try to call Crippen today to see If I can get there dealer code.

My scanner at home is down so I will have to sneek these into work to scan and should be able to produce this in black/white in a little while

 

Haven't seen this one: Dave Miller Olds, Matteson, IL. My Mother bought her 90 Cutlass Supreme there.

They also sold DeLoreans. That was a short-lived gig.

Also remember a JJ Wright Olds, but in Lansing, IL. I pulled out an old invoice for something I bought there, thought there might be a code on it, but not for parts slips I guess.

It does say on the top, and this is as of April of 86, Lansing, Chicago, Hammond.

My Cutlass was bought new in 1987 at New Wiehl Oldsmobile in Marietta, OH. I believe the dealer code was 06-910.

Nowling's Oldsmobile was listed earlier in the post - do you have the dealer code in the database?

 

My '61 Starfire sat in the showroom January-March 1961, here's a pic from Christmas '61 (a few months late ).

 

Read all those community things Nowling supported, as did many old-line new car dealers. They knew the connections and goodwill would pay off in sales and service.

Find a new car dealer that supports its community like that now. None here do, though a few of the more established independent used-car dealers do.

Mega-dealers support their community? Yah right, esp since most aren't even owned by people in the communities they're in and really could not care less.

Also there is a number to the right of the dealer code on the window sticker starts with a letter then has numbers behind it. If i cross it over to the build sheet the number is under the (order) section. My SX was built in 8-69 and it starts with E00013, would this be the 13th car built? My 442 is K45910. My 442 was built 10-69. Wonder if this is what it means or? What does the letter mean? Hopefully some one can explain. Both cars were built at the Linden NJ plant.

You may have the first SX built! I can tell you this, there were 735 of them made in August '69.
And the the first W32s were made in Oct '69 and there were 7 of them.

 

This is a thread that I want to follow! Maybe the first SX built? cool.

I remember Jones as a Cadillac dealer, but they may have also sold Oldsmobile.

Far as I know Valley is still in business on Franklin Rd in Roanoke but I haven't been in that dealership in over 30 years. I don't know if anyone from 1970 is still there, but worth a call.

I called Massey Motor Co about my Hurst/Olds and not only did they remember the car well, I actually spoke with the salesman who sold the car new. Get this- they still had a pile of records for the car and they sent me everything they had, including a new Massey Motor Company trunk badge, identical to the one on the car.

Hey- worth a try. All it would cost is a phone call and a few minutes.

 

I called them and gotten ahold of somebody there, they took my # and they called me back and said all of there reords were destroyed decades ago. They did want me to send a photo of the car.
