So did it change names and if so when?

 

I just drove by where The JT olds used to be on 95th st a few weeks ago, it was demolished in 2002.

I worked for an aftermarket sunroof co. as a porter from 1986 thru about 89-90, going from new car dealers to pickup and drop off the new customer cars that were getting aftermarket sunroofs. used to go to Jack Thompson Olds at least twice a week back then.

 

I NEED THE DEALER CODE FOR THIS DEALERSHIP!

This is the building in Park Ridge, IL that my 1965 Jetstar 88 was purchased.



The old Hartigan building still stands vacant at N. Northwest Hwy. and Meacham Ave.

It was named "Hartigan Oldsmobile-Cadillac." Mr. Hartigan was a notorious gambler, and one night around 1972, he lost his Old's franchise to a guy named Ray in a poker game! Ray built a new building nearby in Park Ridge and sold Olds' for many years under the name of "Ray Oldsmobile." He went out of business before GM pulled the plug on Oldsmobile.

Hartigan Cadillac remained in business for many years and later was sold. The dealership became "Napleton Cadillac."

Years later, Napleton moved four blocks away to a new building located at the corner of Busse Hwy. and N. Greenwood Ave. Still in business selling Caddy's and Buick's.

Is anyone keeping track of these dealers?

I have a database of Pontiac codes:

Pontiac Dealer Zone/Codes

It seems a lot of these could be in line with the Pontiacs.
The Chevy dealer codes seem to be on their own system.
(different zones and areas)

Some of the Buicks also seem different.

Anywho, the more info the better.

While at the local u-pull yard, I came across a 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme. All the good stuff had been removed before I got to it. I did find a factory build sheet inside & brought it home along with the original Owners Manual for the 1977 Cutlass. I'm mailing them both to someone that has a '77 Cutlass and posts here regularly. The reason I took 1 copy of the factory build sheet is because of this post. Heres the dealer info:

What a surprise!

I bought Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight's for 11 or 12 years back in the 60's and 70's from Al Leikin, a friend from my yacht club! Al and his brother Milt bought the dealership from another yacht club buddy, Bob Young, whom I had bought a lot of old's from starting in 1960.

I really wish that I had saved car stuf, but I was busy working to raise my family and it never crossed my mind. I wish I had saved all that stuff.

The ONLY brochure I have is from a 1983 Cutlas Supreme four-door that I got for my wife when we lived in Florida!

It's a small world here on ClassicOldsmobile.com to have all these memories recalled.
