Anybody know of a Oldsmobile dealer code 03-868 from PA or NJ? Checked the spreadsheet and scoured these threads with no luck. My 1969 Oshawa built 442 was shipped there for further sale.

Reason: Adding info
And my dad worked for Royal Oldsmobile (1966-1991) and Pontchartrain Motors Oldsmobile/Cadillac (1959?-1965) (later became Sewell Cadillac 1984) but I don't know the zone codes.

Don't have a zone code.
I also have a 1990 Custom Cruiser bought in Vancouver, WA but I don't know the dealer. I know the original owner's name and address but I don't have the purchase paperwork. If anyone knows what Olds dealer was in Vancouver.
1970 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme w/455/400 at the former Oldsmobile dealer in The Dalles Oregon in 1970
I have owned the car since 1979 and has always been in Port Ludlow WA
I do have the original owners manual but that is about all I know about it other than it was built in Lansing
Since there is not a compreshensive list of Oldsmobile dealers and their zone codes, Ive been collecting them when I find them online. So far with the help of Kurt Shubert, I have over 200 dealers/codes on a spreadsheet. Reason I am doing this is, no one has done it yet, it needs to be done, and guys with POP dealers codes but no dealer name can find their dealer.
So if you know your dealer name and zone code (5 digit code on the window sticker/buildsheet/protecto-plate) please post them here.
Thanks
If you don’t already have: the code for Row Motor Sales from Grand Rapids, Michigan was 07 726.
I finally have the invoice for our 1990 Custom Cruiser from GM archive. I can't find a dealer that matches any of the codes on it. I attached the dealer portion. If someone is good at reading this please set me straight. Is the dealer code 40-334 or 07-333?
On the 1990 Custom Crusier 07-333 dealer code is a MI / Detroit Zone dealer
Maybe someone with a 1989-1991 Detroit Dealer Code list can call out who the dealer is.
The 3rd-5th digits were assigned for Dealer Business name # to letter alignment
So a 333 would be a likely name starting with F-H.
The 40-XXX indicates that car may have been a Olds Special Event use car or one that the dealer took out of "Unassigned" inventory.
Unassigned would happen if a dealer went out of business or a went thru change of ownership, etc
That's interesting because on CARFAX it doesn't arrive at the first dealer in Vancouver Washington until July of 1990 with 9867 miles on it and isn't sold to the first registered owner until October of 1991 with 11,253. I wonder what it was used for all that time and mileage? No other records were available from GM.
The whole reason I got both documents was to find the name of the Vancouver dealership and now I have bigger mystery. Yet I still don't know the Vancouver dealership name. It's not on either document just the city on CARFAX.
I have no experience with GM of Canada.
Could be that 40-xxx code is for GM of Canada & not for a USA Zone Ofc or Dealer Special event.
The 07-333 is definitely a USA Detroit Zone area Oldsmobile Dealer.
Maybe you should look into this with GM of Canada Vintage Vehicles. Goerge Zapora use to be the leader.
He maybe able to tell you more. Look him up on the internet.
He is propriatary of his info so you will need to reach out to him direct
If the actual delivering dealer is in Van Couver BC it is not a US Dealer trackable thread.
All US Dealer Invoices show a "charge to" dealer name. Since you only show portions of invoice, I cant help.
Thx for confirming there was no GM of Canada involvement
Looking at the data you have here is another possiblity. This car was sold new by the 07-333 Detroit Zone dealer.
The Vancouver WA dealer got the car as a Used car after Detroit Zone Dealer or Independent Used car dealer sold it used.
The WA dealer got the original Det Zone dealer factory invoice which is what you are showing.
The WA dealer was selling a Used Car
Detroit area Olds dealers did often sell used low mileage to other distant Oldsmobile dealers.
Distant dealers often did not inventory slow selling cars like Custom Crusier.
This was even more frequent when a model came up for a major body change like 1991-92 for Custom Crusier.
Detroit Oldsmobile dealers were often a good source of wholesale used cars.
This was because they inventorried more due to density of GM employee/retirees in MI IN OH.
You should show the entire invoice you have so I can fully analyze what you have.
You can black out the last 8 digit/letters of the VIN so I can see if a dealer name is on Invoice.
Hope this helps & good luck to you
Thx, I viewed the full image pdf of the vehicle invoice.
That C Crusier was used as a Saginaw Steering Div of GM Company Car. Each GM Div which had an internal GM Dealer code & their's is 40-734
The car was shipped to one of Oldsmobile Dealers in Saginaw MI area, Name ? but Dealercode 07-333
Having worked in the Oldsmobile Div Sales Serv Marketing org 1976-2002 the following is my speculative timeline for this car:
Car was likely used as a pool car for 1990-91 to attend mtgs, etc, by Saginaw Strg managers & engineers to go to other GM Divisions.
Depending on Saginaw Strg Div rules it was sold to an GM employee after 4,000-10,000 miles thru a nearby Oldsmobile dealer.
Likely that 1st retai customer traded it in & then it moved into the regular used car market.
The WA dealer could have acquired it thru a Used Car wholesale auction network channel.
Hope this helps explain your car's history. Best to you
Hello guys. Joined to comment on this thread specifically.
I did not read thru every page in this excellent thread, (so the following may have been addressed) but did take note of the following quote on page 2:

I maintain a Pontiac dealer database, which I have worked on steadily about 6 years now. [If interested, take a look at the Pontiac Dealer Database on FB]. To date I have around 5000 Pontiac codes, plus another 5000+ dealers that pre-date the warranty code system (came online during the '61 model year). Yes; over 11,000 hand-keyed lines of info. Excellent chance it is the most comprehensive list in existance (tho it is not yet complete). Each Division had their own code systems, so you cannot use Chevy, Buick, Pontiac, etc codes for Olds. If a dealer was a multi-line one, they had a code for each of those lines. If a dealer changed names, locations or owners, most likely their code changed (not always). Sometimes there was no 'visible' change, yet a dealer had 2 codes (at different times).
I use a 'Microsoft Word' type document (on Mac) to list. First section is the coded dealers, 2nd half is uncoded (alphabetically). Dealer name, street address, city/state, source document, year of source, other years verified are all in individual columns, so it is more ready searchable. Also have a column to reference others (such as when a name changes), and a column to check if I have a pic. I can provide a snapshot of a few lines if interested.
I hope this project is still rolling along- this sort of info is well worth cataloging, IMO. If I can help to add dealers I have that carried Olds, I would be happy to. A quick search shows I list 713 'Olds', but there are more (sometimes, I have to abbreviate it to 'O' for space reasons).
